Pure white dress or off white for fair colored skin?

I have very fair skin and I was told that totally pure white dresses make you look washed out, and that's it's better to get an off white color. . . is this true?? I really wanted a pure white dress, (I've earned it ) But I don't want to look washed out.

I am pale. I ordered an irovy dress. You can't tell unless someone next to you is wearing white. Good luck!

I did the same. My dress looks white in all my pics & you really cannot tell that it is not white unless you are next to something white.

Also you can try getting a low-shine fabric. This might also take the *edge* off of a pure white.

I'm fairly pale too and I tried on both. I found that I looked much better in ivory. My mom wanted me in pure white, but she also agrred that ivory was the way to go.
