Pure white dress or off white for fair colored skin?

I have very fair skin and I was told that totally pure white dresses make you look washed out, and that's it's better to get an off white color. . . is this true?? I really wanted a pure white dress, (I've earned it ) But I don't want to look washed out.

I love diamond white.

I am pale. I ordered an irovy dress. You can't tell unless someone next to you is wearing white. Good luck!

I went with Diamond White....the true white made me look a little pale...the diamond white was better for my complection

My best friend just got married and she is very fair skinned. She wore a diamond white dress. she tried both colors on, but she just had this 'glow' to her in the white dress, and she looked great! So I suggest that you try both colors on, even if it's another dress in one color, just to see which you like better....bring friends and family for opinions!

I'm also very pale...and diamond white looked the best on me. You can't really tell the difference so you'll still have your 'white' dress.

I'm very pale and my dress was as white as white could be ( I earned it too ) so I would try on all the different shades to see which one looks best.

I am pale and a redhead so the ivory looked best on me. I also have a lot of gold and different colored beading that gives it more color.

I'm very fair, and I bought a white dress, the off white did not look good on me. Made me look sallow...

I am extremely pale and even off white, or diamond white didn't look right. I got an ivory color, or they call it 'spun gold'

I would try both colors-I am very pale with dark hair and the white washed me out big time! I went with an ivory dress too

I'm very pale and did not like the way I looked in white. I chose an ivory dress. It looked so much better with my skin tone.

that is 100% true! I have very pale skin and I'm wearing ivory, which makes me look darker than I am.

you should go try them on. then you will know for sure.

I am very fair and I got an ivory dress, but you reallly can't see the difference. I read in a bride magazine that it matters more what your skin is like rather than fair or dark. I have a rosy complextion and it suggested an ivory dress. For olive skin it actually suggested a champagne dress. I think that you just have to hold it up to your face to see.

I am very pale as well (seems to be a trend here - haha), but off-white or ivory has never looked good on me...makes me look ill. I am going with a white dress.
