My original wedding date was Decemberr and i was going to do plum or jewel tone purple gowns. Now we're in June and I can't use those colors but I am really attached to Purple. What shades of purple can be used in June? Please show suggestions if you have any,
I originally wanted to get married in sept/oct and wanted those same colors (eggplant/plum). Now were getting married in July but i refuse to change colors-i just loveee purple so much! I dont think its a big deal. Use whatever color you like

I dont see why you can't do purple in june - I'm pretty sure an 09 bride did purple in august - so still summer.
I think those colors would look great in june!!!! And if you really love them - that seals the deal even more!!

eventhough I am getting married in November - this is kinda of pruple red its called sangria from DB
you can definetly do purple in the summer. you can lighten it up by doing white flowers for your BMs. The CPs can have some more color to them, but I think jewel tone purple dresses with white flowers and silver shoes......gorg!

Im getting married in June and I'm using purple and yellow as my BM colors.
I was nervous about it being too dark of a color for the summer but then I realized it's my day and I can have any color I want!
Who cares what time of the year it is! If purple's the color you love, then have purple!

I just checked your albums to see if you had any of BM dresses in there and I saw all the cherry blossom centerpieces. I SO LOVE them, but they won't be in season in June..what have florists told you about it so far? (i was originally booking 5/24 and they also told me it was cutting it too close to guarantee the cherry blossoms)

I don't think it really matters! people do black in the summer nowadays! I'm doing eggplant in July with white flowers. Maybe just get the BMs short dresses and use light colored flowers.. I think you can do some jewel-tone accents as well, maybe just a little.

I love them too!! I actually think I am borderline obsessed with them..haha. I booked with Designs by Rose for florist. I spoke with Rose before FH and I even set the date and originally we were wavering between booking May and June but then decided on May. What Rose told me was that it would pretty much be a guarantee to have cherry blossoms if I booked early to mid May. But that was impossible for us because FH will still be in grad school and will be finishing up with finals during that time. So she told me that since I'm late May what they would need to do is put the order in with their grower way in advance and then what the grower will do is keep the CBs in a cold room (I guess through the winter before my wedding) and then transfer them to a hot room when they want them to bloom. She told me that there is a 99% chance that I WILL have the CBs, but there is still that chance that it may not happen. She did tell me that June was definitely out if I wanted CBs because there are very few remaining and they are not full like you would want them. I had contacted some other florists and they told me that for May 21st CBs would be out....so maybe it's the whole cold/hot room capability that Rose's grower has that allows her to go a little longer with the CBs. If you love CBs there are other options if they aren't in bloom for your wedding. Some people have curly willow branches with pink orchids that are attached by hand that give a similar look to CBs. Also, I think there is another branchy centerpiece that has white blossoms that might be in bloom in June...I'm not sure of the name though. Let me know if you have any questions. I HTH!!

As I stated in another post today if you love the color use it! Today it doesnt matter when your wedding is people use dark colors in the warmer months and light colors in the winter. My cousin is getting married in aug and we have dark purple dresses.

i agree with everyone else! if u love it, go for the purple!!!!! You can make it more summery by choosing a flowy material for the BM dresses & bright flowers! I love purple, I can't believe how many girls are doing it too!!!!

i'm attaching some purple shades i thought were summer-friendly. purple definitely works in summer! and there are so many pretty purple flowers. If you want darker tones, just add some greens or lighter tones to make it more summery. I'm sure whatever you choose will look awesome!
