Purpose of using 5 almonds in favor ribbons.........

I went to finalize my favors today and was discussing the importance of the Jordan almonds for us Italians with the lady. To us Italians, getting the little package of 'bombonieri' is as important as an appetizer! Here is the representation of the FIVE almonds you are supposed to give:

Jordan Almonds are mostly used on wedding favors, especially at Italian weddings. Each guest gets 5 white Jordan almonds as wedding candy to represent the 5 wishes: health, wealth, happiness, fertility, and longevity.

Just thought you'd all like to know that : )

Very true! Its an old Italian custom. Ill have almonds in lil organza bags at my tables in addition to favors
