FH and I set the date for April 25th 2008, back in April. We're so excited that it is less than a year and a half, but at the same time, i started to freak out. I'm not sure that we'll be financially able to start off on the right foot.
Neither of us are working right now. FH got let go from his job because his school schedule conflicted with work and I'm not working to stay home with my grandma. SO we basically have nothing. I've mentioned pushing it back to November 28th or 29th (we started dating on the 29th) a couple of times now, but up until last night FH just says we'll see what happens. But HELLO we need to make a decision. The whole reason if we did for pushing it back to November is to have our dating anniversary and I don't want to lose out on that date with my vendors, especially once the holidays come and a slew of newly engaged brides start booking things. We both live at home and FH doesnt want to push it back because he wants to get out of his house and live with me already. But i think waiting another 7 months would help a lot. Plus I called CLM and since its after thanksgiving they decorate the lobby for Christmas. Can anyone say Christmas themed wedding... YAY. so i would be disappointed too in pushing back the wedding, but it would be nice to have the anniversary and it be christmasy. However, what about outdoor pictures and the boat arrival at CLM
Sorry, these are just everything going over and over in my head.
So my cousins came in last night, and she is talking about getting married. So FH and I started talking again about pushing the date back and we came to a decision. We are going to go ahead and push the date back. I'm going to try and give all my vendor a call on monday and hopefully everything goes well. I'll keep you all posted.

i thnk it will be just as nice!!! i posted a bucnch of wintey items in an earlier thread... and CLM is so pretty in the winter.. (i live right there) so im always down by there.. you will be just fine.. pics will be beautiful and no sweat, humidity.. it will be great.. and it gives u so much extra time to save!!!
If you want some of my ideas.. im full of them!!! i also have alot of fall theme ideas!

Ok, maybe its the doomsday scientist in me, but you need to consider where you plan on going for your honeymoon if you plan on pushing back the date. You in hurricane season and the carribean and Mexico are still prime targets for storms. Just a consideration. Otherwise winter wedding/ christmas theme....GORGEOUS!!!!!!
That time of year you are also in the beginning of the Southern Hemisphere summer....for Brazil, tahiti, french polynesia, australia, etc....HTH

I already thought about the honeymoon. I figure it would be nice to go someplace warm if we're going to get married November 29th. I really like St. Lucia or Barbados.

I mentioned the pro/con list to Fh this afternoon (on a trip to Michaels ) and it seemed like there were soo many pros to November and not so many pros for April. Once everything passes with his grandfather we'll sit down and really think about it. I know its not the time to stress about the wedding, but i just feel like this decision needs to be made soon before its booked.

Since it will be after thanksgiving, it will be Christmas themed. I already called the hall, not as myself..lol... and they decorate the lobby for CHristmas.

Actually this might work out EVEN BETTER THAn you planned. You can get all of your centerpiece items this year and next during after Christmas sales. You can also probably by favors like that with 80% off

As long as you both are happy. A christmasy time wedding will be GORGEOUS!!!!! And on the water with twinkle lights...it will be beautiful!!!! Good luck with the vendors!!!!

My FH and I were talking about pushing ours back as well (May 17th). We're both teachers w/o jobs right now. Although we're subbing almost everyday, there are no benefits. HOPEFULLY, we'll get jobs in Jan. (popular time to retire) or next Sept. We decided to keep the date, not to worry and let things work themselves out. IF, by next year (Oct. or so), we don't have jobs, THEN we'll start to panic. Honestly, I think a lot of engaged couples go through this. Everything will work out!

hey ...i just wanted to let you knpw that i went to a wedding last night and it was beautiful! the weather was not too hot not too cold...all the girls and the bride had fur stoles on during the ceremony ...it looked amazing! just an idea for you...i'll post pics soon

We did push it back till 11/29 which will be our 5 yr anniversary. I'm hoping its not too cold but my cousin got all excited and wants a muff and a cape! I don't know about that, but i'm sure it will be fine. I'd love to see pics! THanks
