Pushing Date Back? Updated

FH and I set the date for April 25th 2008, back in April. We're so excited that it is less than a year and a half, but at the same time, i started to freak out. I'm not sure that we'll be financially able to start off on the right foot.

Neither of us are working right now. FH got let go from his job because his school schedule conflicted with work and I'm not working to stay home with my grandma. SO we basically have nothing. I've mentioned pushing it back to November 28th or 29th (we started dating on the 29th) a couple of times now, but up until last night FH just says we'll see what happens. But HELLO we need to make a decision. The whole reason if we did for pushing it back to November is to have our dating anniversary and I don't want to lose out on that date with my vendors, especially once the holidays come and a slew of newly engaged brides start booking things. We both live at home and FH doesnt want to push it back because he wants to get out of his house and live with me already. But i think waiting another 7 months would help a lot. Plus I called CLM and since its after thanksgiving they decorate the lobby for Christmas. Can anyone say Christmas themed wedding... YAY. so i would be disappointed too in pushing back the wedding, but it would be nice to have the anniversary and it be christmasy. However, what about outdoor pictures and the boat arrival at CLM

Sorry, these are just everything going over and over in my head.

So my cousins came in last night, and she is talking about getting married. So FH and I started talking again about pushing the date back and we came to a decision. We are going to go ahead and push the date back. I'm going to try and give all my vendor a call on monday and hopefully everything goes well. I'll keep you all posted.

I dont think its a bad idea to push it back to insure that you have enough money...i think a xmas wedding would be beautful! i dont think any of the 08ers are that late in the year yet so you would be the first! and hey if the weather is like what it has been like this year you prob will be able to take pics outside! I say gofor it if it will be less stressful ...HTH

I don't think it will be so bad to push it back to november. If you aren't fincally ready then it's a good idea. And a christmas themed wedding would be so beautiful!!!

I've looked at the winter themes on the theme board and they have such beautiful ideas, but IDK. I think i'm leaning towards it, but FH isnt.

Personally winter is the most prettiest time outside. You have that special sparkly evening night sky. Bright sun that reflects off of surface. Its really a fun time to take pictures. BUT yes cold. I love the cold so I wouldn't mind but I would be scared to be on the boat with wind and cold. YOu may want to axe the boat arrival but thats really up to you.... see if anyone has done it during that month.. ask nick or lou they will be upfront about it.

Congrats

you definately have to weigh your options on paper

april 2008 is not that far away. Pushing it to November will give you alot of extra time to save for your special day!

Thats true. I think doing a pro and con list for both is a good idea.

I think it sounds like a good idea... very practical considering your situation. Unless FH can come up with a better idea, I think you've hit the nail on the head with this one. And you know that CLM will totally work with you.
Good luck and please keep us posted!

I know CLM will work with us, they have been great. I called and they are not booked yet, so i want to change it (if we are) before its too late.

Ideally when you are outside the situation it sounds like a good idea to push it back....however maybe both of you should do the pro con list...this way you both get a better idea of exactly where each other are coming from, which pros and cons you agree with, and see which date has more pros that both of you agree with.

Re: Pushing Date Back?

and oh yea....the other thing about the boat ride that late in november...even if it is a warm nov they may already take the boat out of the water...so tthat might be a question to ask...when they take the boat outta the water for the winter...is it a set date or is it flexible depending on on the weather that yaer

I checked out CLM yesterday... it was a lil windy out side (ok.. very vindy) and the plam trees were blowing & the water was so high moving so quickly, I am strange I really liked it, but while I was readding reviews I saw that a girl that got married in NOV still got the boat arrival

Re: Pushing Date Back?

i think u can still have the boat ride just as long as it doesnt rain or its too cold

Re: Pushing Date Back?

Yeah plus I figure there is no guarentee that it isnt going to rain in April. Just have to pray for weather like today.
