Put on those thinking caps!

ok so my cousin is getting married Feb 08... she reciently found out she was prgenant and is due this october. so in lue of the big news her and her FH have decided to have just a baby shower and no bridal shower... but shes still my big cousin and i would like to make some kind of wedding basket for the 2 of them. What do you think i could put in it??.. i saw something like a married woman basket... but could use some other ideas.

I say make her 2 baskets, one for a wedding shower and one for a baby shower. You can give her both of them at the baby shower, I think it'll be sweet.

i ahve seen wine baskets whee each wine is to be opened on certain occasions (same thing with candles.. but how many candles can you have? hehe) maybe a basket of detressing things (since there is a baby on the way) candles, bubble bath, etc

they are not married... but i like the wine idea?? do you have any more info on this??? she loves things like that... when we moved into our new house she made the basket with things like salt for good luck, bread so that you will always have food , wine to keep you in good sprits.. and a couple other things

what about if you did two baskets one for the bridal shower and then they have the candle basket idea for getting married..where each candle represents something (color) and you are supposed to light it on that day...i dont think i make sense but i know what i am trying to say hahaha i will look online for the idea~

Wedding Night- (white tulle)

The night you have dreamed of is finally here.
The future surrounds you with hope and yet fear.
You’ve wanted so long to find your mate.
Sip this wine and toast this date.
The night is meant for you to share.
Enjoy each other a perfect pair.

First Dinner party- (gold tulle)

As you open your home to all of your friends to entertain and eat.
It’s a place for old friends to catch up and new ones to meet.
When the night is over two great hosts can share this bottle of wine.
But don’t sit down yet pull up your sleeves because now it’s clean up time.

First fight- (black tulle)

When fights occur as they sometimes will and tempers are steaming hot.
Pour a glass take a sip and be thankful for what you’ve got.
For in a marriage if everyone agreed it would certainly be a bore.
And by asking for my friends hand Jordan’s surely in for more!

Christmas Eve- (red and green tulle)

A wise man turned to a friend and said wine is better than beer.
And now is the season for friends and fun and lots of holiday cheer.
So pop the cork and relax a bit and when the night is through,
kiss goodnight, close your eyes and Santa will be good to you.

First Anniversary- (cream tulle)

Tonight you’ve been married a year one wonders where the time goes.
No longer are you newlyweds, soon you’ll be pro’s.
I hope the days have found you both in good health and spirit.
Keep saying I love you one always needs to hear it.
Now toast this date known as the first but certainly not the last.
And as you build your future don’t ever forget the past.

1st Baby-(pink and blue tulle)

The news that a baby will soon share your life will make you a mother not only a wife.
You’ll see it through good times and sometimes bad.
Leslie the loving mother, and Jordan the dearest dad.
Now Jordan must drink this one alone, and Leslie with empty glass.
Sit back and relax nine months they quickly pass!

Re: Put on those thinking caps!

This is the poem and candle idea...

A Basket of Candles
For [insert Bride's name]

A basket of candles that come in a pair
In all different colors, for you two to share
The white ones burn first
They are wrapped in white lace
To celebrate your first married night
In your new chosen place.
The green pair is taller, and also much thinner
Burn with the first company, you have over for dinner.
The dark blue candles are for after your first fight
Use them to burn while making up all night.
Pink candles set the mood and pave the way
For your first married Valentine’s Day.
Now, when your first year of marriage is through
The cream anniversary pair, will light for you two.
Red candles aflame, both your futures are bright
Celebrate promotions you’ve worked toward with all of your might.
By this time we hope, maybe, just maybe
You can light the purple ones, on the birth of your baby.
And just when you thought you’d put these away
Take the light blue ones out-for your fifth anniversary day.
Now just one more pair left - for the big 2 5
The anniversary pair that will keep your love alive.
Congratulations [insert Bride and Groom's names]
On the start of your forever
May the two of you always be happy together
And burn these candles
Just the way we said
But please don’t forget-blow them out before bed!

what about those wedding shower candle baskets?

Re: Put on those thinking caps!

what about (for the bridal shower basket) some toasting flutes, nice champagne, cake serving set and a picture frame. You can do all that without breaking the bank and they are things they will need for the wedding. You can give those to her whenever you want, you don't need to wait until the baby shower

IMO, If I this was me, Id want an allinclusive night on you basket.

It'd include wine, maybe a good movie, a gift cert for dinner out, a coupon for free baby sitting, toasting flutes, candles, a good movie..

or...

whatever she likes todo...thats what i like to do
