DH is Jewish (I'm not) and we had a contemporary version of the seven blessings, read in English by the officiant. I got it off of the Internet. FM me if you want it. Thanks and good luck.

Not doing the seven blessing, takes too much time, for me anyway. We'll be under the chuppah w/our honor attendants, but not our parents, they will be sitting. Both of my parents will walk me down the aisle.
Of jewish traditions, we're drinking from the kiddush cup and breaking the glass and saying 'I am my beloved's....etc' instead of 'with this ring....etc.'. Of catholic traditions we're lighting the unity candle along with our moms. We may add a reading if there's time. I will decide after our rehearsal.

I am not having an interfaith ceremony but a friend of mine is catholic and married a jewish man. They did a completely jewish ceremony with the 7 blessings (read in english) and both sets of parents walking and standing.

I have to say it was the first jewish ceremony I had ever attended and it was beautiful.

She even circled him!

We just met with the rabbi this weekend and I think it scared us a little bit. Ideally we'd either skip the 7 blessings or do a contemporary version in English, have both sides of parents and grandparents walk down the aisle, and have both sets of parents stand under the chuppah.

I'd also like the groomsmen to walk down the aisle, either alone or paired with bridesmaids.

Did your rabbi have a problem with skipping the 7 blessings? I'm reform...

FH is jewish, I am not.

We are doing the 7 blessings, but in english (I want to understand my ceremony and he doesnt even understand hebrew s why bother)

His both parents are walking him down but just my dad is walking me.

Both sets will stand under the chuppah.

I think its up to the couple w. an interfainth ceremony.

We also didnt want the parents to feel like they are missing anything in their traditions.

ets- we are doing a unity candle to add some christial tradition in also.

We're using a priest and a rabbi, rabbi is reform....whatever we want to do is fine with him.
