we all love posting pics of our gown, right?

so what i want to know is why did you pick it?
did you pick it for the details? did you pick it because it was a ballgown, mermaid, etc or did you pick because it made your body look great?

*the first freakin gown i picked was because of the details. i fell in love with it in a magazine bought it online for $100. when i tried it on i was happy....fast foward a year after i bought. the girls started trying on bm gowns and i started to get jealous of how the gowns were fitting them.
thats when i knew i needed something else.

then i started to look at gowns that fh liked. none of them looked good on me. fsil picked a mermaid./trumpet gown which looked like crap on the hanger. when i put it on i couldnt believe how it made me look. it made me look taller and thinner.
i tried on a few more to make sure that the gown was the one. but nooooo then i discovered ruching!! i was getting so pissed that i loved two gowns but for different reasons. why couldnt i find everything in one?!?!?!?

so i said fcuk it im going to buy the one i think looks best. so we went to a store that had it at the best price my sis/moh told me why dont you try on a few more just in case. man am i glad i did!!! i found a trumpet with ruching and the details i wanted!!!

in the end i only tried on about 20 gowns but man did it feel like 9873498275089245!!!

did i ask more than one question

It was a ballgown, it was VERY sparkly, and it had a train that went on forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND I couldn't stop thinking about it

I think it was actually the first 'ballgown' I tried on....I tried on a bunch of A-lines, but they just weren't doing it. Then I tried on my gown and I just started glowing. I didn't want to take it off! As a matter of fact, I was walking around the store in it for over an hour

Going dress shopping, I really had no idea what I wanted. I tried on about 5 or 6 dresses and when I tried my dress on, I just knew. It was the only one that I felt like a bride in. Plus, my mom, sis and best friend all cried when they saw me in it.

I am a very simple person so I was looking for a very simple gown with little bling. Whey I tried on mine it was exactly what I was looking for and it made my waist look skinny!

I went in with a pic of my gown. I knew it had a LOT of stuff going on. Flowers, rouching, lace, beading. I wasn't sure if it would be overkill. However I HAD to try it on.

Literally the woman pulled it from the rack and turned it to me and my stomach dropped, I was in AWE!! Without even trying it on yet. I got so excited. It seriously took my breath away.

So then when I went to try a bunch on. It was the FIRST gown I tried on and I knew. I got 'the feeling' I tried on other's some i liked other's I didn't like. Then I was trying to convince my mom bc she was pushing for another gown which made my waist look like a size 2! So I told the woman at the store that I wanted to put the first one on again, and to tie me up TIGHT!!! she did and we all knew there. It was 'the one'

I didn't order it right away. I waited about 5 months and looked at other's and would even visit 'my' gown once in a while but I had to be sure. I was, so I bought it in May and it came in about a month ago! LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

if you ask my mom & sister, they will tell you the dress i picked is nothing like they ever expected. i am a very plain & simple person. i don't like to draw attention to myself & i prefer to stay in the back. (FH has a very similar personality).

what made me fall in love with my dress is how detailed the top is. i also love how the pick-ups have a small amount of detailing. this was the only dress that i tried on that had me twirling around the store.

i looove the look of lace and beading. i think its a very romantic look. I didnt want anything too puffy but still wanted to feel 'like a bride' so when I found my gown...which had lace, beading, and was a-line...it was exactly what i wanted.

I picked my gown bc is was just stunning on me. I wanted something that was simple yet still had a little something to it. When we started shopping I absolutely had to have straps, no strapless. The woman said just keep an open mind and try on everything. So when she brought in my gown, it looked ok, but as soon as it was on, I fell in love. It was perfect....and strapless! I never thought I would like something like this but its just perfect. I guess a big factor was the fabric...out of all the designers I tried on, I loved the feel on the fabric Ines Di Santo uses. It fit like a glove and felt so nice.

I picked it cause it made me look (in my own eyes) the most beautiful. none of the other dresses I tried on made me feel like that.
when I 1st started shopping for a dress I wanted: no detailing, no ball gown, nothing sparkly, something very elegant and I kinda maybe wanted a dropped waist and for it to be A line. my dress has all of that.
the one thing I discovered that I absolutely loved and never even knew existed before was the pleating/rushing. I was blown away by how that made me look so much thinner and hot

My experience was interesting. I wanted a lace mermaid or trumpet gown w/ a sweetheart neckline. I was stuck on it!

I went to so many places and tried on soooo many variations of that gown. The thing with all of them was that the sample was not my size and i couldn't envision how the dress would actually look if it were in my size OR i COULD envision it and I didn't like it!

When I tried on my dress, which wasn't my size, I COULD picture it in my head AND I liked it! I was sold.

I picked it because I knew it was so perfectly 'ME' - NOTHING I had ever dreamed of.
I always pictured myself in an all acelon lace gown, no beading, no sparkle. I tried on about 9 gowns that fit that description, and one other - the one I picked. I hated each and every other one I tried on. I mean they were so beautiful, but just not me.

Can I just say that the experience really brought out for me what my personal 'style' is... I never really had it nailed down before that, and now I am so much more confident in making decisions about what's really 'me' as opposed to what's nice/pretty, but not for me.

Originally, before I even got engaged I wanted an all lace dress.

I tried on a million dresses and wasn't feeling any of them really. I tried on a Jim Hlem dress in bridal reflections that was satin AND lace and I looooved it. My mother however did not lol.
I couldn't find anything like it b/c I thought it was so different. My dress was basically the last dress I tried on. It was a similar style as the jim hlem but it was pronovias and my mom loved it and so did I.

I knew i wanted some poof like a traditional gown, but not too much, and some sparkle but not too crazy and i LOVE pick-ups. before we even got engaged i saw a gown on-line that i bookmarked that i was obsessed with. it was actually in the first bridal magazine i bouhgt after we got engaged! I could not find it anywhere at first to try it on, so I tried on like 8 others one day, but nothing seemed to make me as excited as the one in the picture. i finally found it and as soon as i put it on me and mom were sure it was the one!

i picked it the same way i picked my prom dress and the two bridesmaids dresses i have in my closet. i saw it online, i just knew it was the one. then i saw it in person and tried it on and i was reassured that this dress was the one for me! i only tried on one dress because i am a no frills kind of shopper and i am super happy i did because the dress is now discontinued. now.....on to shoes hmmmm
