Q re: bridal party hair (and makeup)
Re: Q re: bridal party hair (and makeup)
I am letting them do whatever they want with their hair. I also cannot afford to pay fo that, but I am open with what they want to do. I just want them to be comfortable. Just explain to them your finances, and let them make the decision.
Re: Q re: bridal party hair (and makeup)
i don't think they expect you to pay for their hair and or m/u. i'm not doing it for my girls. but most of them opted to only have their hair done and do their own m/u. i may pay for my MOH's hair and m/u only because it'll be part of her thank you gift.
Re: Q re: bridal party hair (and makeup)
I don't have the money to treat my 10 girls to hair or makeup or both! I don't think they expect it, I never did in the 7 weddings I have been in. I told my girls do what you wish. If you choose to have your hair and mu done then great- if not no big deal. There is no reason they need to feel they have to shell out hundreds of dollars unless they choose to do so
Re: Q re: bridal party hair (and makeup)
I agree with all the above ladies. There is no right or wrong answer, and no reason why anyone should have to pay to get their hair/make-up done if they are comfortable doing it themselves. I've been in two weddings, and never was it required. At my best friend's, she asked me if I wanted the girl who was doing her hair to do mine, and honestly, I didn't! Very few people know how to deal with my curly hair, and I had no desire to try someone new on an important day.
Re: Q re: bridal party hair (and makeup)
I might be the only one who feels different about this. I think that if you want them to have their hair and makeup done by someone then you should tell them that. Me and my 3 best friends were in our other best friends wedding recently and everyone had their makeup done except for one BM (who happens to be my MOH). Well, she looked very washed out in all of the pictures and it was very noticable. She insisted on doing her own makeup, but because she will be my MOH I am planning on telling her that I would really appreciate it if she got her makeup done because I want her to come out with more color for my pictures. I know most women wouldn't agree with me.
Re: Q re: bridal party hair (and makeup)
In all the weddings I've been in, I've never been asked to have my hair or makeup done. I'd say if you require them to have it done then you should at least pay for part of it. If you dont care either way, then its their choice and they can have it done or not at their own expense.
Re: Q re: bridal party hair (and makeup)
Any wedding I was in I too was never asked to have my hair or make up done. I chose to. I also paid for it. I also go to my girl. I told my girls if they want their hair and makeup done to go to the people they use. One b/c its up to them to spend the $ and also they go to people they know and like.
Re: Q re: bridal party hair (and makeup)
i've been in NUMEROUS weddings and i never once expected the bride to pay for my hair OR makeup...and they never have. I had a fabulous hair girl that i gave my girls the option to use. all but 3(out of 8) used her...the rest got it done elsewhere whether it was a different salon, or they did it themselves, etc....didn't matter to me as long as it was done! lol. it's nice to give the option but there is no need for u to pay for everyone!
Re: Q re: bridal party hair (and makeup)
i'm going to leave it up to my BMs. the make up and hair people will be at my house and it is up to them if they want to pay for it. as soon as I have a price, I will let them know. i understand that it is a lot of money. it is completely up to them.
