Good morning! Starting work late today so I slept in this morning and it felt great!

Do you ever feel that maybe getting married at City Hall in a small, private, simple ceremony might have been a better choice than planning a big wedding and spending all these thousands of dollars? Please explain! :)

I think it would be a whole lot simpler and less stressful, but I only plan on getting married once and it's my first time getting married so of course I want the big wedding with the wedding dress and whole, 'it's all about me (well, us)' special day! If it was up to FH though, he probably wouldn't care either way. He just wants whatever makes me happy, but I'm sure he would prefer keeping it a whole lot simpler and less expensive!

*I typed this so fast it had a lot of errors!*

Re: *QOTD 03/28/2013*

I think that would definitely be EASIER but I know that we would look back and regret it!

We don't want there to be any regrets as it is a once in a lifetime experience. As stressful as spending the $$ is, it will be worth every penny! We are still fairly young and there is always more money to be made and plenty of time to pay off! We are enjoying the process and we can NOT wait for January 18, 2014!

I don't think I would ever be truly happy had I not had the wedding I've always dreamed of. I don't regret our choice I just wish we didn't live in NY where everything is so astronomical!

It would definitely be easier but I would be sad looking back in 30 years. I also don't think my family would ever forgive me!

It might be less stressful in terms of finances, but looking back I'd also feel like I missed out on something. There are so many things to stress about in life that I think it's important to focus on the good things and celebrate with loved ones!

It would be easier but never crossed my mind, definitely not what I would want. If I were to change my wedding plans it would be to have a destination wedding in Jamaica.

Fh and I want so badly to just go to Vegas and elope. It would be so much better for us but it would break my mothers heart since I'm the only girl and she never had a big wedding so big wedding it is.

FH has mentioned it but I honestly still want the big party after so I told him all we are really saving on is the church so lets just do it the right way since we've come so far.

We originally wanted a destination wedding but neither of our families have the money (or passports) to be involved in something like that so it makes the most sense for us to have a bigger wedding here on the island. Now that I'm planning it I couldn't imagine having it any other way. I am SO excited to hang up pictures from our wedding all over our house

haha I wanted to elope or go to town hall honestly cause I know we didn't have the money but fh was married once before and that is what he did then. He wanted the traditional. I then asked for small and realized they were just as expensive and we both have pretty big families so we just bit the bullet and went with traditional. I am not getting my dream wedding but the wedding we can afford and regardless it will be an awesome fun day.

YES! And I've told FH this and he said 'nope, we're doing it this way' he knows ultimately it's not what I want, but I don't want to spend all this money!

We always say it would be so much easier, but I know at the end of the day we will be so happy looking back on all of this. We're so excited to get married, but I couldn't imagine not having everyone there and having a huge party after! I wouldn't have the wedding I've been dreaming of!

I totally think it would be easier, however being 'easier' does not really match up to what I or FH want. I have a huge circle of friends/coworkers and he has a huge family, and we're both soo excited so share and party with everyone on our day! So I have no regrets taking the hard route :)
