we are going to apply for our marriage license today! So inspired by this..
Are you keeping your last name, making it a combo? and how did your FH react to your decision?
For me, my FH is extremely laid back so he didnt mind that i didnt want to change it. i figured since it served me well these 27 years, why change it now?! about 6 months ago, i decided i would hypenate my last name! many women in my field either hypenate or dont change it at all. either way my FH is happy and it's a good compromise :)

I am keeping my last name for the time being as well.
I'm thinking about making my current last name made into my middle name, and then taking on his last name.
Another possibility is hyphenating, but I'm thinking that may be too long.
I'm unsure at the moment what to do in the future.

I'm keeping mine and I my fh is not too happy about it. He is traditional and wants me to take his last name. I agree with you ladies this name has done me well for 28 years! I also have worked my *** off to get to where I am right now. So careerwise I feel like I have too. Its me and my sister so our last name will die with us. He can't be that traditional if hes marrying this very untraditional girl!

I am going to be changing mine although I would love to hyphenate it. FH 100% wants me to take his last name. I am sad about changing it because I feel like its my identity. Also because my dad has 4 daughters and the name will end with us. BUT on the flipside I am very excited to start a family with my new name.

I am hypenating. FH is not too thrilled about this but I have always said I would hypenate since I was a little girl. So after 6 1/2 years its not a suprise to him that I didnt want to completely change it. Plus its not like I am not taking his name, I am just adding it to mine!
