QOTD | 09.18.13

Hi everyone!

This one might be kind of hard, but I'm interested to know everyone's answers.

I am a HUGE music fan ... I love love love music, and it has gotten me through so many times in my life! So, my question is - is there a special song or a particular lyric that reminds you of FH, or speaks about your relationship? (Sappy love songs FTW!)

It's hard for me to pinpoint just one example ... but there is a version of 'when you say nothing at all' by ronan keating that i LOVE and that reminds me of FH - 'try as they may, they can never define what's been said between your heart and mine....'

There are 2 songs that come to mind with this question... Both are Dave Barnes songs!

Song #1- God Gave Me You

We've been together for 11 years and have been through a lot in those years. A few break ups, but always found our way back to each other.

When we weren't dating officially just yet (this went on for a year) we were out one night and he started singing 'Truly Madly Deeply' by Savage Garden. He made it clear he was singing to me and this woman came over and said 'honey, he's a keeper!'

Another song that reminds me of us from the early days is 'If You're Not The One' by Daniel Bedingfield. We would drive around playing it.

Just reading that makes me feel bad, lol. I was young, 22 going into 23 that first year.

Five and a half years later...I'm glad this song (The Gift by Collin Raye) sums us up! And it will be our first dance song. It's so cheesy without the music but it's true. He is my gift!

Our first dance is a little bit faster than normal but since we're doing the 'skacoustic' version it will be perfect :)

Meeting in college, we had to work really hard to stay together (when we returned home, we lived 5 hours apart). Sometimes it meant pissing off our families, our friends, and sometimes each other. Now, it means risking a lot financial and emotionally to relocate to a different state to stay together while pursuing our career goals. While we always knew we were lucky to be together, it didn't always feel that way, but all it takes is one of us to remind the other.
