If you are off today, I hope you are all enjoying your day off. I know I am! (Home being a lazy bum )
Thank you Kristy for selecting me as BOTW!
Here is my 1st question:
Have you and FH always lived in New York? If not, where have you both lived and for how long? Do you plan to stay in NY after the wedding or in the future?
FH and I have lived in NYC all of our lives. He in the Bronx. As for me, I've jumped around a lot btwn Bklyn, Bronx and Manhattan. From 20-21 y/o I lived in Ft. Myers, Florida. I hated it! It was so boring lol. But for the past 5 years I have been settled in the Bronx.
As far as moving away, as much as I would miss my family and friends I would LOVE to move somewhere with no more winters and beautiful weather. I would seriously consider Cali or Las Vegas but FH has a daughter who he wouldn't move away from so there goes that idea. Maybe some time down the road after she gets older and we have our own kids we could consider moving.

We've always been New Yorkers. I was born & raised on Long Island, and he grew up in Yonkers, then a Westchester town. We met at college in the Bronx, graduated, moved back to the Bronx where we teach.
I could *never* live away from NY! He'd love to - he hates anything colder than 70 degrees haha - but he knows I'd die if I had to be away from the city, my family, and especially real bagels lol.
Where are you in the Bronx, Jassy? I'm glad there's someone else besides me planning weddings away from where we live!

Re: ~*~*QOTD 1-16-12*~*~
I was born in Brooklyn but my family moved out to LI when I was 1. The only time I lived away from Long Island was when I went away to school in Massachusettes. I think then is when I realized in the future I was going to stay on LI and be close to my family. Mass. was great but I love not having to drive 4 hours to see my family. FH has always lived on Long Island. When he was unemployed we talked about moving elsewhere since others states have a cheaper way of living but even with him he didn't want to leave LI because he has all his family here.

FH has lived in the same house since he was born on Long Island. I lived in upstate NY till I was 9 and then my family moved to Long Island. 90% of FH family is on Long Island and about 70% of mine so it would be hard to leave. FH brother got a job in Disney last year and his parents have considered moving there. I think beside NY that would be the only place we would consider.

That is great about no alt parking. Parking can be a killer in other neighborhoods. My neighborhood is like that to. Its all houses and very quiet but I love it! I used to live in the not so good areas (or what I call the hood areas of the Bx) so I don't miss it at all!

FH was born in NJ, lived in florida for a while, lived in Italy for a while and now has been in Lindenhurst since about 6th grade...
i've always lived on Long Island, grew up in Huntington, live in Greenlawn now..i went to school up in massachusetts, and then some schooling in philadelphia....i also studied abroad in australia...
at this point my job is too good to leave it pay-wise, but we've entertained the idea of re-locating in the future to help our standard of living...maybe florida...we'll see what the future holds...im hesitant to leave my friends, my family has expressed they want to retire and may relocate anyway (possibly even where we go, if we go)...i think FH is more ready to take the plunge then me

Cool question!
I was born in Las Vegas, NV and lived there up until I was 2 years old. My Parents are originally from New York though. So we moved back and I've been a New Yorker ever since!
My Fiance' was born & has lived all of his life in New York!
We plan to definitely stay in New York!!!

Both FH & I have lived in the same houses since we were born! If we decide to move it would only be upstate. FH can't move too many places b/c of his job, but our entire family is here so I wouldn't want to leave anyway

Same here; we both have lived in the same houses since we were born! I would love to move some place warm, but I am a teacher and wouldn't leave my job. Sometimes I love it here and sometimes I wish we lived some place less expensive and less hectic.

This is a great question! I have lived in NY most of my life. I moved to Hawaii (The Big Island- Hilo) for 2 years to teach special education. I miss living there since I moved back 3 years ago, but then I would never have reconnected with my FH!
My FH has lived in NY all of his life and I doubt he will every want to move anywhere else, which is understandable since most of his family lives here and so does mine.
I'm hoping one day he'll decide to move back to Hawaii with me. It was such a great experience. Everyone treats you like family

Born and raised on Long Island. I'm a Nassau girl and he's from Suffolk. FH moved to Nassau at the end of 2008 and we will either stay here in Nassau or go to NJ in the future. My family lives in NJ and the housing prices can't be beat for what you get compared to LI.

I lived on LI all my life until I went to college in Rockland County. I met FH 2 days after I moved into college and I never came home! I will always be a Long Island girl at heart! My parents still live in LI and many weekends you can find me there.
FH has always lived in Northern NJ. When we moved into out apt and then into our house, it had to be in NJ due to residency requirements if FH career.
I officially changed my license this year and it brought a tear to my eye!

It really was. I still have a lot of friends that I keep in contact with. I know I will always have a place to stay when I go back there. They are so nice!
You should definitely go there for your HM. I truly believe everyone should go there at least once in your lifetime. You will absolutely love it! You really can't go wrong with any island you choose to visit. Every island has something to offer!

We both have always been from NY. However we are moving as soon as FH finishes school (dec 2013). Its way too expensive here, and we both want to travel, own a house of our own, and give DS more than we'd be able to living here.
Luckily my parents are moving whenever FH and I choose so we wont be that far from our family since that means my sister will be going to.

FH and I have always been residents of NYC, Queens to be specific. I grew up in Flushing and he grew up in Astoria. We would like to stay in the city or very close to it after we get married. We plan on looking at houses and condos in Queens or Nassau (Floral Park and New Hyde Park).
