~*~*QOTD 1-16-12*~*~

Original post by jassy119

Hello Ladies,

If you are off today, I hope you are all enjoying your day off. I know I am! (Home being a lazy bum )

Thank you Kristy for selecting me as BOTW!

Here is my 1st question:

Have you and FH always lived in New York? If not, where have you both lived and for how long? Do you plan to stay in NY after the wedding or in the future?

FH and I have lived in NYC all of our lives. He in the Bronx. As for me, I've jumped around a lot btwn Bklyn, Bronx and Manhattan. From 20-21 y/o I lived in Ft. Myers, Florida. I hated it! It was so boring lol. But for the past 5 years I have been settled in the Bronx.

As far as moving away, as much as I would miss my family and friends I would LOVE to move somewhere with no more winters and beautiful weather. I would seriously consider Cali or Las Vegas but FH has a daughter who he wouldn't move away from so there goes that idea. Maybe some time down the road after she gets older and we have our own kids we could consider moving.

I lived in Bklyn my whole life.
FH lived in long island since he was like 3.

I recently moved in with him about 2 1/2 years ago.

I plan on staying in long island.

We were both born on long island. FH lived in NJ for a few years when he was in elementary school then his family moved back here. He's a Nassau boy and I'm a Suffolk girl. We plan on staying on long island because this is where we want to raise kids.

We both have always been from NY. However we are moving as soon as FH finishes school (dec 2013). Its way too expensive here, and we both want to travel, own a house of our own, and give DS more than we'd be able to living here.

Luckily my parents are moving whenever FH and I choose so we wont be that far from our family since that means my sister will be going to.

Where do u plan to move to?

We're really open. Wherever FH is able to grab a job with his degree is most likely were it will be. We would both love to go to Texas, North Carolina, Florida and Id contemplate Arizona. We've been doing a ton of research as schools are the biggest concern having the little one being school age when we go.

FH and I have always lived in NY and as much as we love it here and both our families live here, you cant deny the fact that it is very difficult to be able to afford a home here as a young couple so we will most likely be moving to Arizona after the wedding. His aunt owns a bunch of businesses down there and is getting ready to retire so we could take over and we have tons of ideas for our own businesses too! I love AZ - where else can u go in the middle of December and wear a miniskirt and tanktop and actually be hot! lol

Great question..

We both were born and raised on LI - He's from West Babylone, I'm from Ronkonkoma.

I went to college in MA, he was still on LI.
Shortly after I returned home from college, he moved to PA.
While He was in PA (we're dating now), I moved to Vermont.
Then, he increased the distance by moving to Florida.
While he was still in Florida, I moved back to LI.
Last year he moved back to LI, so we could be together again.

Long distance is always hard.. no matter the distance.

We survived 2 years apart - Vermont to FLorida for about 6 months, LI to Florida for a year and a half. It wasn't easy, but I feel like in the end it made us stronger.

You're welcome Jasmine! Congrats

FH and I always lived on Long Island. I started the fight 3 years ago to move to NC, or VA, but he refuses bc of his job.
So, I'm stuck here

Hello All!

Greetings from sunny Florida! This is a great question, because I'm currently in Orlando visiting family. FH was born and raised in Long Island. I grew up in Arizona, but moved to FL to attend college. Most of my family lives in FL. FH and I met in FL while working for the same company. He had moved to FL for college as well.

I decided to attend graduate school in Long Island and FH decided to come with. His family is so happy that he is home. He was in Florida for 10 years. We lived in FL for 2 years (after meeting) and then have been in NY for the past 4 1/2.

I would love to move back home (FL), but he doesn't want to leave NY. I don't think I can have kids unless I am close to my mom and grandparents.

I grew up in AZ! It's an amazing place to live. It does get hot, but I'd rather that than snow.

I totally missed this QOTD.. I was too busy bumming it in my PJ's! LOL

FH has been here all his life and I moved from Portugal when I was two.. I can't see us living anywhere else. I know we would consider it but we're both super family oriented and it would be hard to leave them!

I am a proud Queens girl, born and raised, and FH is a Suffolk boy. I only moved in with him in May '11 when we got engaged. He lived in Cali for 8 years and was back home for 1 month before we met! If I had it my way, we would be living in Queens or Brooklyn, but we are in Suffolk in FH's apartment. I'm still not fully adjusted to life in Suffolk... it's so far from the City and my job. It drives me crazy sometimes, but I think we will end up living out here. Real estate is much cheaper and the schools are better.
