Today's question:Have you been to previous events at your wedding venue or will your wedding be your first experience there? Did previous experience play a role in your choice?
We have not been to any previous events at Floral Terrace but one of my FSIL worked there when she was in high school! We based our decision on that, plus reviews online.

I've never been to an event at the VYC but one of my friends has and she had a lot of great things to say about it before we booked.

I was at Sand Castle years ago and to be honest I thought the decor was tacky. But it has been totally renovated and even people who attended weddings there years ago say the service and food is excellent

We attended FH's boss's wedding at CHCC in September. Their wedding was in one of the upstairs rooms, and we'll be in the downstairs room, so we sort of crashed the wedding that was going on in our room lol. But we were really happy with the food and service, so we know we made a good choice.

I've never been to a wedding at the Woodlands but my mom has been to several smaller dinners in their private upstairs room and raved about it!

We have never been to an event at the Woodlands before. We've gone to 2 of their bridal shows, but that's it. I do have family who have gone to a wedding there and they said everything was great. I think if it isn't sold out yet, we may go to the Valentine's Day dinner there.

I've never been to a wedding at Carlyle on the Green. My dad is in the food industry and knew the former owner and said nothing but great thigns about him and they types of businesses he runs. Ive also spoke with numerous people who have been to weddings at Carlyle and said it was AMAAAZING :)

I attended a wedding at my venue years ago. I loved the food and service. I was hesitant to book there. But everyone that attended the same wedding wanted to go back... This helps with the excitement....

I have never been to a wedding or event at Thatched Cottage! Every one who has, has said the food, place & service is amazing though. An old co-worker started working there as a front hostess last Summer (she is in college-I'm hoping I can get her to be my bridal assistant!)... so I hear good stuff from her as well!

you have some really great/ unique questions!I have never been to an event @ larkfield, but FW has- 10 years ago (pre- previous renovations). Everyone remembers the GOOD food ! It will be like a NEW place but have the comfort of an experienced venue/chef/etc!
side note- i lived by larkfield growing up and never knew even close to how great it was even tho friends & friends' parents worked there!

I had never even heard of the Woodlands until i started looking at venues. I looked at reviews online for all of the venues, and the ones for the Woodlands were great. After i went to visit, i found out that an old family friend of ours actually had her wedding there, so she gave me the low down and i was confident it was a good choice. We really chose it based on the look and feel of it, and then the tasting we went to just solidified our thoughts about how great it was.

I had never even heard of my venue until I started wedding planning, even though I grew up on LI going to lots of family events. My sister in law worked for NYIT and had great things to say about it and the reviews were great.

I am so happy to know that I am not the only one who picked a venue without having been at a prior event.I read lots of reviews about Westbury Manor and then fell in love when I saw the place, the menu looks amazing!
It was the only place FH and I looked at!!

I will be looking for it! I think we should make sure Frank knows we will be reviewing FT on a VERY popular wedding forum, so everything better be perfect! LOL
