Today's question is about the Sweetheart Table.
Now, I get the whole idea and we are probably doing it, sitting at the Sweetheart table I mean, because of how our venue is set up. And I understand why a Sweetheart Table is a good idea: a moment of privacy, the couple is the center of attraction and so should have a seat of honor etc. etc. but there is something a little disconcerting about being on display the whole night! It's almost like we will be on a cake stand along with the wedding cake!
So, how do you feel about the Sweetheart Table? Are you doing it? Do you have another plan like sitting with your BP? What do you the of the whole tradition?

I agree, I think it will be nice to just sit with your husband and enjoy each other's company without being bothered. Although, I fully expect to be pulled in 8 different directions! Lol

Our table is on a platform too so I like the fact we will be center of attention. It will nice for 'us' time too. However, I have a feeling we won't be sitting too much : /

I am def doing the sweet heart table. I would like some alone time with FH...after all it is OUR wedding day :)

We probably won't be sitting that much so I don't mind the idea. It's probably the only time in our lives we will be center of attention alone like that in front of that many people. I think it will be nice to eat dinner alone just the 2 of us because there are so many people to see and talk to before and after dinner that I think it will be our only alone time!

We are having one. The one we have is on a stand too Karin! I like the idea of having alone time with FH. Didnt really think about the whole being on display thing, thanks a lot! Haha Like everyone else dont think well be sitting too much!

i really dont like the 'head table' where you sit with the BP (and not their dates) i was in a wedding once where we did this and was very uncomfortable!!

I'm not a huge fan of being on display either but I can't see it working any other way. It will definitely be nice to have a few moments of privacy in an otherwise hectic night were I'm sure we will barely even be sitting.

I love the idea of a sweetheart table. (totally agree with Lauren that the big head table is uncomfortable for the BP.) I don't mind being the center of attention, but I know we won't be sitting much anyway. I sat at the table when we were touring the Venetian and it made me feel like a I was a queen overlooking my kingdom.

I'm ok with the sweetheart table, I think the whole bridal party at one table overlooking everyone else is odd. I'm excited for my sweetheart table decorations too haha

I am so excited about the sweetheart table. It will allow FH and I to 'steal' little moments together. When I was MOH for my best friend's wedding, she had a dais. FH was seated at a table with the other significant others, but since we had to travel to AZ for the wedding and FH didn't really know the people he was sitting with it was pretty awkward for him. I tried to go over to him as often as possible and not spend much time at my seat on the dais, but still, it was weird. Our sweetheart table is not on a pedestal though, so I don't see it as us being the center of attention, rather, just pulled out a bit so that we can take it all in. OMG, just thinking about it and writing this is getting me more excited about my wedding day!

I love the sweetheart table. And I also love the fact that the BP can sit with their families/significant others. My FH was a groomsman in a wedding last year and he had to sit at the BP party table while I was at a random table with people I didn't know. It was so uncomfortable for the both of us.

We are having a sweetheart table. I plan on putting my channa plaque on it along with some candles and the bridesmaids bouquets. I think the only time we will be sitting is during the toasts and the main course.
