QOTD!! 1-20-13
My last QOTD!This one is about your RH desserts: Are you having a Viennese Hour or not? Are you having just cake? Or something in between? Are you setting up a Candy Bar?
Initially, we were not sold on a Viennese Hour because it just seemed like soooo much food. We didn't want to spend the extra per person if everyone wold be stuffed by the time for dessert arrived. But our RH added it on for a small extra per person, so we went for it. Now I am glad we did. I think it will add another touch of extravagance and elegance that will make the wedding memorable. But, I certainly don't think it's necessary.
What about you?
I'll be picking out the next BOTW today! Let me know if you would like to be BOTW!!

We are doing a mini-VH. Our RH threw it in when we booked. So instead of a VH taking up the dance floor, the desserts will be passed around by waiters.

We're just doing cake and my venue does a 'tasting plate' of 3 small desserts. I'm not the biggest dessert person so I didn't really care to add a VH or anything else.

We get a dessert with the cake & I also made them throw in a combination of pastries for each table. I think that's enough. Our guests are big on dancing so I don't think they'll have time to sit

Viennese hour was a must for FH. I am glad we are having it. I have heard great things about the Viennese hour at a Floral Terrace. I love that the desserts are set up outside of the ballroom so that dancing can continue quickly.

With two large Italian families VH was a must for both of us. One thing we did negotiate was to go containers because I wanted guests to still experience the VH even if they were stuffed. Also, I am thinking about doing what a friend of mine did. She boxed up her wedding cake and everyone went home with a slice of cake rather than plate it up for dessert. That way guests could endulge in the VH and have a piece of wedding cake for breakfast (or whenever) the day after the wedding and it doesn't get cut up and wasted if people don't eat it at the end of the wedding.

THIS! VH is a must, FH and I would NEVER hear the end of it from our family if it didn't happen. I don't mind, I have such a sweet tooth! That's a great idea about the boxed up cake.
