My first QOTD! Sorry im a little late ladies..

I figured id start with a question that wasnt wedding related but would let us get to know each other a bit...

What does everyone do for a living? Your fiance? Are you planning on always working even after the wedding/starting a family?

Im a respiratory therapist and work in two different hospitals. FH is an attorney for NY city. Ill probably be working for a while even after we start a family because FH has soooo many loans from school and it may be a while before he leaves the city for a private firm.

i work in produce sales & FW is a behavior specialist at a day hab for individuals with developmental disabilities

we want to both work for a while to get everything paid down before starting a family, and at that point one of us will probably stay home

Im an attorney in manhattan, i work at a mid-sized medical malpractice defense firm. FH is a police officer in the domestic violence unit in the NYPD (hopefully soon to be a detective)

we are waiting a few years to have kids after the wedding, but id like to stay home with them for a few years, or maybe work part time if possible

I am a teacher in Brooklyn. I work at an arts based middle school. FH has recently been transfered to the NYPD aviation unit. He has been so excited to go to work, it's nice to seen him happy, but his job scares me all the time. We both still have a lot of school loans etc. so, while we want to start our family ASAP, I will be returning to work in the fall and after we have our children. I once asked FH if I could be a stay at home wife, he chuckled. An answer wasn't needed, the chuckle said it all. LOL

I am a stay at home mom to a 19 month old girl! My FH is a disabled veteran and goes to school full time for computers. Not sure if I will be going back to work as we dont believe in other people raising our children and by the time my daughter goes to school we will probably have 1 or 2 little ones at home still.

I'm a Young Adult Librarian at a public library and my FH is a recreation assistant at an adult home and works at Macy's as well... I'm going to continue working after the wedding and probably even after we have a family...But.. only time will tell!

My FH & I are both accountants. I plan on always working but maybe more flexible hours or from home. We are waiting at least a year or two to have babies since we are still young.

I'm a fifth grade math/science teacher and FH works in buying/selling in a corporate security business.

We plan on starting to try for kids like 6 months after the wedding (I'll be 28, he'll be 31) and I don't really find it realistic to live on Long Island and NOT work. I also don't think I wouldn't want to work, since I love what I do.

I'm the Executive Director/CEO of a new not for profit working in Behavioral Health, Medical care and Social Service. FH is a Doc and the Director of the Computational Bioinfomatics at Sloan Kettering.
No kids for us, and both of our are very involved in our careers, so no plans to change!

I'm an accountant and FH is a banker. Ideally I'd like to stay home when we have kids but since we want to move to LI and buy a house it's probably not very realistic ...

I am a 4th grade teacher in Queens and FH is a Business Banker. I'd LOVE to be a stay at home mom butttt that wont be in the cards considering teaching jobs are so screwed up these days that even girls that go on maternity leave have issues with placement when they go back to work. Maybe one day :)

Ugh I SAW this happen. I was a permanent sub in a district that my brother's friend worked in. She went on maternity leave and they hired a girl who hadn't even graduated with her degree yet. They then GAVE the girl her job and excessed my brother's friend. Was SO messed up!

We are trying for kids right after the wedding! We will probably move out of state a few yrs

I'm a 2nd grade teacher and FH is a podiatrist. While I'd ove to stay home when we have kids, FH believes my insurance is superior to his and thinks its important that i work for that reason. I still believe I can work my magic when kids come along but I would be okay if i had to continue working.

I work in finance, FH is a sports reporter. I would love to stay at home full time once we have kids but we will have to reassess finances when the time comes to see if we can make it work!

FH is in the FDNY in Queens Village and I work as a Human Resources Professional at a Non-Profit agency in Smithtown.

Since we do plan to have a family, ideally I would like to continue working but change to part time, or work partially from home, but really this is something we are going to wait until it gets a little closer to think about.
