~*~*QOTD 1-22-12*~*~

Hi ladies!

Hope everyone has been enjoying their Sunday. Mines has been a lazy one. Woke up, had brunch, watched a couple of my shoes on my DVR then took a 3 hour nap! Love my lazy Sundays!

Question:

How/why did you and FH choose your wedding date?

Our wedding date is Sunday, Oct 6th, 2013. We chose 2013 so we would have plenty of time to save for the wedding. I knew I either wanted a May or Oct wedding. We decided on Oct because it gave us more time to save and Oct is one of my favorite months. Weather usually isn't too hot or too cold so we are hoping we'll luck out with some great weather for our day. Also, our dating anniversary is at the end of Oct so we thought it would be nice to keep our wedding anniversary in the same month and Oct will be our special month! We chose Sunday, because Sat was way more expensive. Moving the wedding over 1 day saved us $30+ per person.

We went to Fox Hollow and told them we either wanted Nov, Dec, or March. So they said pricewise March would be best then they told us what Saturday night they had open in March so that's how we got the 16th

I love lazy Sundays too! FH and I spent hours curled up in bed watching some of our favorite shows, including How I met Your Mother. Then took a nap.

First we chose 2013 as we wanted time to save and continue settling into other changes in our lives (FH moving to NY, changing jobs).

May has always been a really special month. I really really love the spring, I always have. Then, for years FH and I would meet up at spring festivals of different sorts, and it was always a good weekend together dating and fun.

So we settled on spring - and not April (my BDay) and not June (FH's Bday). May usually has decent weather, though we're a bit afraid of rain.

When we first started looking I wanted September on of 2012 (Saturday Night). I looked at a few places but the Venue I chose only had Labor Day Weekend left in 2012, which I was totally ok with... FH wasn't.
I didn't want to wait any longer but FH did (to save some more money and we are in contract for a house, so there's a lot going on this year).
We were then going to take March 16, 2013 but since my family goes to Aruba every year this would cut into their vacation and we didn't want to do that and also have my parents be away the week before the wedding... so next up was April 20th.
And that's how I got to become a 2013 Bride!!!

We chose Saturday November 2, 2013 for a few reasons. We both agreed that we wanted a late fall early winter wedding, we actually were leaning more towards fall but then we saw that the difference between the last saturday in October ( in season) and the first weekend in November (0ff) was like 3,000 dollars or so haha we said why wouldn't we wait till first weekend in November. We love the early Winter temperatures and we really wanted a Saturday night. :)

Happy Sunday!

We originally wanted Nov 2012, but due to family schedules we decided to go for 2013. March 16th worked the best for our families and we got a great price for a Saturday evening. Hopefully the weather will be great!

I had a lazy Sunday too! Started my day with my FH just watching old family movies and now hanging out watching tv with my mom!

I wanted to have a 'winter' wedding, and I knew in December because after that it gets just too cold for me! My FH didn't really care just wanted time to save and didnt want the middle of summer so he didnt sweat his tush off lol. We were going to look at Dec 2012 and than my brother set the date for his wedding and set Feb 17, 2013...I was a little upset at first because they were engaged a full year before me and didnt set a date until when they knew I was looking but I got over it very quickly and decided instead of my parents stressing with two weddings in two months I figured I would go with Dec 2013...I loved the first of the month because 12.1.13...its easy to remember and a math equation! LOL my OCD teacher came out a bit. When we went to the Inn the held the date in pencil for us until we were ready and in Nov I officially booked. SO technically I am still a fall bride with it being at the beginning of the month but who doesnt think of the holidays and winter after thanksgiving right? lol

LOL, your right! So many ppl automatically think Winter when they hear Dec. But actually its mostly a fall month. I was thinking about how dates looked and also as well as sounded. When choosing dates. I would say a bunch of dates and I'm like, nah I don't like the way that sounds.. LOL

Most people thought FH & I would do a summer wedding because I'm a teacher and would have time off. But I never saw myself as a summer bride and wanted to do something different than my friends that have already gotten married (August & September). We waited until 2013 to save money (even though neither of us really wanted to wait ). It worked out for the best. We just got the date we wanted from our church (10/13/13) and we have the RH holding our date pending on the tasting on Saturday (unless the food is awful, we will be booking THAT night right after the tasting). Plus the date is easy to remember

We chose 5-31-13. Funny enough we originally planned on September 20th, 2013 but I wanted more daylight and warmer weather haha.... So we looked to may & a Friday night and picked the 31st!

No story really...lol. We originally wanted to do November 2012 but we really couldn't afford our RH at that time of the year so we pushed it back to January 2013. We chose the 20th because it was the Sunday b4 MTK day so we figured most people will have off that Monday.

We wanted nice weather not too hot or Cold and def didn't want to sweat. April worked, and we choose a Sunday for price and went last one of the month hoping for may weather. We r waiting till 2013 bc we just bought a house and we r paying ourselves and needed to save.

We originally wanted a Saturday night in June.. And then we saw prices!

Lol! So I was totally against a Sunday but then decided that price-wise it was best.. We went with Labor Day because I didn't want people having to work on the next day.. & I like 9/1 because we started dating 8/2 .. 9+1=10 8+2=10 lmao!!!

I wanted to get married before one of my vacations. I am teacher so I figured I would get married a little before the Easter break. We are going to use that week for to go on our honeymoon.

Great question!
We had both agreed on summer because it is our favorite season and I am getting my masters in education so summer would be the most convienent time for me.
I work the summer program as well which ends in the beginning-middle of August so it would of had to be close to the end of August and since we got engaged on the 17th, we thought August 17th would be perfect

Re: ~*~*QOTD 1-22-12*~*~

we chose October because I've always said I hatehatehate summer weddings (i can't breathe when it's hot) and my favorite season is fall.

we chose the 12th because it's the saturday during columbus day weekend. we both teach at a high school, and were okay with not having an immediate honeymoon, but wanted some time to ourselves. this way we can have our saturday afternoon wedding at fox hollow, continue drinking and partying with some friends at the inn :), then relax for the next two days before going back to work happily married

(it's also the day before my niece's 6th birthday and i'm super excited to have a cake made for her, too!)
