This is my last question as BOTW. I had so much fun asking you all questions & seeing all of the responses! I'll be on a little later to announce next week's BOTW

I saw this question posted somewhere before, but I thought it was a good one and was curious what you ladies had to say.

How has your life changed since you got engaged?

Before getting engaged, FH and I would go out to dinners and date nights more. Now, we're trying to save for the wedding and a place to live (we still don't live together - I'm a grad student and he just graduated ) We're trying to save as much money as possible so we hopefully will be able to afford a down payment on a house rather than renting for an extended period of time.

In terms of my friendships, most of my friends are in long term relationships or married, so I luckily don't have problems with friends saying I don't spend as much time with them as I used to or anything like that.

Overall I've just been happier and more excited too! It's such a great feeling knowing that you're going to marry your best friend and you have that secure, committed relationship and constant support

Yay good question and great job as BOTW!
Nothing much has changed in my life, we already live together and have an adorable puppy together.. I think what has changed is that I can actually look at wedding stuff now without guilt (when there was no ring I knew people thought I was crazy for enjoying looking at this stuff!) and we talk a lot more about our finances being OUR finances.
It's also different when I ask him questions like 'will you love me forever?' Because his answer now is usually something like 'I asked you to marry me' lol

Great questions this week!

My life has certainly changed for the better! While we were already on the waiting list for an apartment before we got engaged, we didn't actually move in together until almost 3 months later. I love living together and planning our future together and feel like 8 years was a really long time to wait for these moments! Another plus... my mom and I get along a WHOLE lot better since I moved out!

Not TOO much has changed. FH and I were already living together.. so thats not new.

Since we got engaged though... I'll definitely say FH has been even more mushy than he already was (which was A LOT lol).

I no longer feel guilty about the wedding board I have on pinterest.

As for my other relationships... they're still the same for the most part. I definitely have found myself talking more to my other engaged friends that I wasn't necessarily SUPER close with... more than I talk to my single friends. I think it just has to do with the fact that engaged people are all suffering from the same 'wedding brain' so they don't care as much about hearing about weddings and tulle all the time LOL

So aside from my even bigger of a mushball of a fiance... which I SWEAR the bigger the dude.. the bigger the mush. FH is 6'6'' and 350lbs... and a HUGE mushball. But yeah.. other than that not much has changed.

None of my relationships have changed. We've always had a good balance of friends and our relationship, and luckily our friends all get along so often we'll all go out together.

We try to cut back on weekend plans and luckily we love to cook together, so we haven't been eating out very much. Last night we watched movies and picked out a bunch of etsy stuff together, so that is drastically different from what we used to do lol. We still try to do something fun once a month though. Some of our favorite things to do are Broadway Plays and sporting events or concerts, so we don't want to completely stop doing things together that we love because of the wedding.

One thing I'm really happy about is that it has showed me that I 100% picked the right girls to be in my wedding. Since I asked them, they've been so awesome with always asking if I need help or what I've done so far, which is really nice to know they're interested. One of them even surprised us last week with our pots and pans set from BBB!

Like most people, not too much has changed as far as friends and family. We have been saving a LOT more. Also, this sounds ridiculous but I feel like I've been so much more careful driving. I constantly remind myself I have someone to marry and I don't want anything terrible happening before the wedding. I know, insane.

Nothing really has changed. We haven't done much planning up until now, but I am hoping nothing with our friends or family changes. I am definitely shopping less & way more conscious of my spending.

We lived together prior to getting engaged so our day to day has not changed much outside of wedding plans being incorporated. FH is very involved so it is nice to just spend time together planning our special day.

I would say that what has changed the most is my relationship with my sister. We were super close and she has presented herself to be rather selfish in a lot of ways and just can't seem to be genuinely happy for me (or if she is she has a funny way of showing it). She has fought me on everything and we have gotten into arguments at least once a week. It just makes me sad that people can't look past themselves for another person. It has caused me many days and nights of crying and I have reached the point where it is not about drama and not about her, it is about FH and I and it is what it is.. Maybe she will come around. We shall see.

They do say that the best and worst of people come out during weddings and funerals...

My life changed ALOT! In the past we were told we'd have a super hard time getting preggers bc I had pcos. Once we got engaged we made the decision to start trying for baby! We figured if it didnt happen before the wedding we'd do ivf after! Were both done with grad school, in our careers and own a condo together so our next big steps were wedding and baby! 3 months after being engaged and deciding to start trying we were prego! Guess my ob was wrong wrong wrong! Getting engaged def opened a new door for us and we cant wait to meet our daughter!

We already lived together but moved into my parents basement apartment to save money about 2 months after we got engaged. Other than that, not a whole lot has changed, very fortunately.

I do too. This is definitely a sign of hope! Congrats!!

My life has changed in some positive ways: my family and FHs family started getting to know each other more, and seem to really like each other (my mom and FMIL email each other on a regular basis, which I think is super cute). FH and I, while already being best friends, have become even more close, if that's possible.

There are a few negative, too. I've unfortunately seen some friends' true colors and have to learn to accept that not everyone is capable of being happy for me. But I'm going to do my best to not let that ruin my planning.

Well, we don't go out as much and don't go on vacations at all now since we are trying to save money. We used to go away once every other month or so but we just can't afford to spend that kind of money and save for this wedding.

Friendships changed too. One girl outright stopped talking to me. I've had it with her, so I just stopped trying. Her loss.

As for us tho, we're great! Just enjoying the planning process and exercising our communication skills :)
