Good morning ladies! Thank you Caity for making me BOTW. Your questions were awesome! I hope I can think of some good ones too.So unfortunately I'm at work today, which is a bummer - so that means I have my therapy hat on, which partly inspires my question today.Today is ALSO my Dad's 62nd birthday. What a crazy man he is! The old saying is that girls choose to marry someone like their fathers. In honor of his birthday - I'm wondering if you ladies feel like that is true for you? Does your FH have any characteristics of your father?
My FH is, in my opinion, the opposite of my dad in a lot of ways. My dad is outgoing (could talk to a wall), business- like, confident and always right (he thinks so anyway.) My FH is very quiet, attentive and shy. Sometimes you could forget he is in the room because he keeps to himself. One of their similarities though is stubbornness. They are both pretty unlikely to change their minds about something once they make a decision. Makes for a nutty family!
Happy Monday ladies!

He is like my dad in the sense that they have strong family values, believe in God, loyal, sense of humor....I've always found that saying to be somewhat true!

I say that saying to FH all the time because he is totally my father it's scary. Even their mannerisms are the same. They get along great too, I've come home from work and he's been talking on the phone with my dad for like 20 minutes (my Dad lives in Texas)

Such a good kick off question! FH definitely has one or two of the same characteristics as my dad. However, we have said time and time again that I am my father to a T (loud, chatty, ridiculous and occasionally a little irrational) whereas FH is very similar to my mom (calm, patient, logical, and oh so sweet). I fear if I married someone with my dad's personality, we would be way too nutty hahaha

I always thought I would be a girl that would mary the opposite of my dad.. low and behold I am marrying a man so similar to my dad its scary.. down to foods they like and dislike.. My mom always says.. you know its not to late for you.. but there are some differences and it seems to be the differences that make FH just perfect for me and I couldnt imagine ever marrying another man.

FH is extremely similar to my father (who passed away when I was 11)... my mother is always saying how 'greg is just like daddy.' FH can be quite passive and it takes a lot for him to feel like a confrontation is worth it - ie, i will send back my food at a restaurant if it's not to my liking, FH will just eat what he is given 9 times out of 10! FH is also like my father in that he is very easy-going and caring.

In some ways this is true for me, in other ways not.More often than not, FH reminds me of my dad. He has the same 'interesting' sense of humor, same values, and they just plain old get along well.
FH is not like my dad because he is very social, and loves to talk in a crowd (he is a teacher, and I always cringe when people ask him about his job, because I know they are in for a very longggg conversation haha). I, however, and more like my dad. We choose to listen, lay low, and this results in some interesting times with FH lol.

They are basically the same freaking person. They tell the same cheesy jokes, are both in sales, and most of all they both love to complain more than anything else. Although FI does admit that he enjoys complaining while my dad insists that he does not complain at all lol. When FI and I first started dating, though, he was nothing like my father! Granted, we were in college then so he wasn't really a grown up yet, but I wonder if my dad has rubbed off on him over the years or if he was always destined to be the way he is!

I had heard that saying before, but never thought it was true until I met FH. He is exactly like my dad. They get along well because of the fact that they are so similar.Funny related story: FH and I were in Macy's one day and there were hats next to the register. He said 'Your dad would love that hat', and I thought he was nuts, because I didn't think it was my dad's style. Well, this weekend I spent the day with my parents, and my dad had on a hat that was almost the exact same one we saw that day at Macy's. I guess FH was right!!!

Hmm. Let's see. When I first met FH, I really didn't think he was anything like my dad but the more I know him, the more I see the similarities. They are both 'fixers' and 'doers' changing lightbulbs, moving furniture. They are both chatty and intelligent. And they both love bow ties and boat shoes :)

This is so true. My dad is my world and my best friend. We have such a close relationship and depend on each other so much! Fh is a clone of my dad. Down to body shape their terrible smoking habit and even the way they stand. Fh and my dad both have such big kind hearts and I am the center of both their worlds (hence right now it seems they are both after my love! Lol) my dad is in my eyes the best person husband to my mom and best father in the world. I know that fh is exactly the same and I know I am marrying the right person because of how much he resembles my dad!

My fiancé actually does have some qualities that my dad has. He and my are both pretty easy going and they both 'take care' of me. What I mean by that is that my dad would clean off my car in the morning - like snow off it and the dew off of the windows and my fiancé does the same things (or let's me have the garage so my car is nice and toasty and no snow ever gets on it).

FH has a lot of characteristics similar to my dad. I used to always tell my friends that the guy I would end up marrying would have to be like my father. And I am so glad he is!Welcome New Vendors
