QOTD - 10/15/12
Wedding Related:Is there anything you would've done or handled differently since planning your wedding?
I have two wedding semi-regrets thus far:
1) Was not booking AJ Ingoglia for video. We went with out photographer who was cheaper and just starting up a company so I only saw one sample and didn't love love love it...
2) Not shopping around more for a dress. I only went to one place! I love my dress, but I wish I would've taken advantage of the dressing shopping experience.
NWR: Will you and your FH be exchanging birthday and /or holiday gifts this year?
We are but we are cutting back a lot. I told my FH to make me something lol.

I regret being hasty with my bridesmaid dresses. I picked one andd I'm not 100% sure i'm in love with it. All the girls really like it, so I'm sure it will be fine.
NWR:
He bought me a few things for my birthday and I will get hiim something for his. In regards to Christmas, we got tickets to see the WWE Pay per view at the new Barlcays center on Dec 16th so I think that will be our gift to each other.

So far I don't regret anything but I have lots of time left so I'm sure there will be something lol! We're putting a dollar amount on holiday presents and going to try to make them either stuff we really need (clothes probably) or wedding related stuff. Probably not doing birthday presents, maybe just a nice dinner out.

Wedding related: I wish I booked my DOC earlier. I also wish I had considered a Saturday night wedding a little bit more, but then again I am so over my minimum I won't mind if some people can't make it. I know the important people will be there. (I go back and forth on this.)Nwr: Yes, we are for birthdays. Haven't discussed the holidays yet. We've sacrificed so much to save money, I don't want to sacrifice our birthdays too!

I regret not having an engagement party. Even though FH's parents gave us the money they would have spent instead, it would have been nice since we've been together so long (10 years). We got engaged late October and with the holidays and everything, it just didn't work out.As far as gifts, we have small children and the holiday budget has always gone to them. We haven't exchanged gifts in years! lol

I don't really have any regrets right now. I hope I don't end up with any either. We haven't really done much and we are really scaling back a lot. My only splurge is having AJ do our video. As far as Christmas we have 2 small children as well so all our money goes to them and my niece and nephew. We haven't exchanged gifts for birthdays or holidays in so long I can't even remember when. lol Honestly I love getting my kids gifts I love this age and they get so excited by everything. It really is a gift to see the smiles on their faces. My mom used to say that to my brothers and I when we were little and we would be like yeah ok lol but she was right. :)

We are using Angel Project. The owner / photographer, TJ added a videographer to his team but I think it is a relatively new venture for them. I am sure it will be fine bc I love TJ/Angel Project so I trust him but we only saw one sample and it wasn't the style I was looking for so I am little nervous. We'll see what happens.

we almost did this with alexis stein's recommendation but got scared to. plus once we met with aj we couldnt choose anyone else! we ended up going with a different photographer as well.

So far there is nothing I would've handled differently. I'm happy to have started planning early and I feel like I am doing a good job with planning; thanks to all the help and info I have received from the lovely 2013 brides here.Since we have been planning the wedding we always say we are not going to exchange gifts. However, we always do. And even when we say we shouldn't spend too much we still end up spending a lot of money on each other. Both our birthdays were in September and we did exchange gifts. For Christmas I would much rather something small but let's see. I think we just don't know how to keep it small...lol!!!!

Wedding Related:Even though i LOVE the bourne- i think i may have chosen a cheaper place if i could redo it. since we chose such an expensive venue, we have had to make some cuts on other things i wanted (ex-vienesse hour)
NWR:
We will exchange gifts but prob not as much as usual.

I wish we would of had an engagement party but we would of paid for it ourselves soo who knows.I gave FH a gift card for his birthday but we aren't exchanging holiday gifts. Our families will be going to a new years eve party at our hall so that is our gift to each other.

I too sort of regret not contacting AJ sooner... although he is really expensive and i'm very happy with our choice in terms of quality and value, AJs work IS awesome... he was booked for our date when i called.I also in general wish i had spent MORE time looking around at things before making decisions... FH is somewhat impatient and likes to get things done, whereas i like to check out all my options first and I feel like we rushed into a few decisions. I'm indecisive though so who knows if things would get done at all if he didn't push them.
NWR: We are setting a max amount for gifts this year. We love the holidays and its always a very special time for us and our families so we don't like to ignore gifting...you only live once!

I dont really have any regrets so far, I am really happy with my location, vendors and dress...but I am sure as time goes on I might regret something. Not everything has to be perfect just as long as I get to marry my best friend I am good:)As far as gifts we will be exchanging gifts but not like the previous years when we would legit go overboard. We just bought a house so most likely it will be house stuff and a Michael Kors bag for me bahaha FH buys me a new bag for every holiday, birthday and anniversary!
