QOTD 10-20-11

My boss has actually been making me work the last few days (the nerve!!) So better get this outta the way before I actually need to work lol

Are there any wedding traditions/superstitions you believe in or are following?

not for superstitious reasons but I will be doing
Something old, something new, something borrow and something blue.

an irish tradition is to carry a horse shoe, I picked up a really cute charm that i will attach to my bouquet.

My family tradition is all the girls have carried one of my great grandmothers hankies, my mom has had one ready and waiting for me.

And me and FH will not be seeing eachother until the wedding, I'll prob go sleep at my parents. Buts thats also to make my morning alil easier, however the idea of staying with my parents (mostly moy mom) does not seem like a good way to make my morning easier AT ALL lol

(i'm sure there are other lil things, me and FH have a lot of inside stuff we are doing for the wedding thats our own traditions, but i cant remember all of them right now, and my boss is prob gonna walk in at any min lol )

FH cant see my dress or any other accessory I will wear that day (I wouldnt even let him see my hair after my hair trial lol)

he is seeing the shoes tho, cause i'm working on them in front of him every time lol

I was a little upset that we are breaking the tradition of him seeing me for the first time when I'm walking down the aisle (we will be taking photos before ceremony) But I'm over it now! We will do a fun revealing

FH is not seeing me in my dress. I showed him a picture of it a long time ago, but all the dresses blend in to him. We are seeing each other before the ceremony which I kind of am down about it, but I know its for the best picture wise. Then there is the something old, new, borrowed, and blue.

I'm following the something old, borrowed, new and blue.

I didn't want FH to see me in my dress before the ceremony but because we're having a cocktail and dessert reception, we have to take pictures before the ceremony.

lots of little traditions!
old, new,...
Getting married under a chuppah
sold gold wedding band
bedekken (groom puts down the blusher before you go down the aisle)
ketubbah
Mom hand making all the yarmulka's (family tradition)

thats all i can think of now, but i am sure there are a few more. I like the traditions- i think they make the day feel special and connected to all the brides in my family that have gone before

FH & I wont see each other before the wedding
FH wont see anything related to my wedding look prior to the wedding

I really wanted to practice the whole, not seeing the groom thing...then again I also want to spend more time with guests during cocktail hour. So, I'm totally breaking that tradition. My mother is going to have conniptions.
