Good Morning Ladies (and Gents for those of you out there)!!!!!!
I'm a big numbers person, I really like to find connections in numbers, anything, sentimental, mathematical, coincidental, it doesn't matter...numbers intrigue me! So that leads me to my 2nd QOTD:
Does your wedding date signify anything special/sentimental? Is it the random day that was available for you? Tell me the reason behind your wedding date!
Well, while my actual date May 22 isn't anything special, (besides that Carl's favorite number is 22 and my favorite nmber is 2 lol, told u, im a numbers freak) it in a way, is a perfect date for us!
I needed a date in May/early June no matter what because school ends beginning of May, summer is too hot i sweat like a pig, and september school starts again! So May/June was perfect...once upon a time when i thought id be engaged earlier, I wanted to get married May 24, 2009! It was the Sunday before Labor day, which is what I wanted, and the best part, it is the anniversary of mine and FHs First Date! So i really wanted that....well flash forward, we got engaged Dec 08 so that wasn't happening!!
So, May 22 is the saturday right in between May 21 (the day we met) and May 24 (our first date)!! So we will be on our honeymoon instead for our 4 year anniversary
I wonder if anyone else has so much thought behind their date??? I hope so, I hope I'm not the only one this neurotic and methodical!!!
Can't wait to read ur answers!!!

our number is sort of random.
we really wanted April 10th since that is our dating anniversary and it will be 7 years in 2010. However, bc of timing issues and $$ at our RH we decided to do a Friday night. Since that friday wouldve been April 9th and that had no significance...we decided to do April 30th bc its still April but its later in the month so hopefully it will be a little warmer/nicer weather.

yeah, our number is pretty random as well! We didnt want a date that was too hot or too cold so we were looking for april/may My family told me if we did 5/2/10 it woulda been better cuz 5x2=10 but, yeah, i guess numbers arent too important to us!

Good question! When we first got engaged we agreed on a 2 yr engagement so things can be done with no stress and running around like crazy people. So we decided on 2010 When picking our date we first went though all the months. And we picked Sept as the perfect month for us. We knew we wanted to get married on a Saturday so we went through the dates. First weekend was my moms birthday and didnt want to do it on her day. The second weekend is 9/11 and for obvious reasons we didnt pick that date. So the next weekend was the 18th. So 9/18/2010 was it!

Ohhhhh man...I can't get into the whole story. To make a loooooooooooong story short FSIL is getting married two months before us and threw a fit that we were going to get married in the same year as her because she's getting married in England and wanted another ceremony 2-3 months later here...she wouldn't decide on a date and we were more than happy to work around when she would be here for her party, but she wasn't picking a date. We wanted to have it this summer so that I could have the most chance of my grandparents making it. So she kept being indecisive and dramatic...so I just picked a date.
Now I actually like our date a lot...18 is a lucky number in Judaism and 7 is a lucky number and I like that its 18 because I like even numbers.
Ideally we'd be getting married on May 2nd (since that's our two year anniversary) but seeing as FSIL is getting married on May 15th it'd probably not be very nice of us.

We knew we wanted to get married on a Saturday in 2010... our dating anniversary (January 17th) fell on a Sunday.. so we figured we would keep the 17th and see which months it fell on a Saturday... all we were left with were April & July... we picked April because i love spring flowers and colors & figured it wouldn't be as hot as it will be in July.. just our preference

1/14 is our anniversary and we wanted to keep it as close to that as possible, and I wanted a Saturday, so we chose 1/16. lol.

Not really. Well, not really when we booked it, but my dad's comment changed it for us Initially we wanted to book Friday, October 22, 2010 because that's our dating anniversary. But then we wanted to push it up to September because we didn't want to wait so long (like a month would be a big difference, LOL)...but Ramadan took up most of September so that was out.
Both of our birthdays are in August, so we didn't want to have our anniversary in there too. Plus, August is a little too hot for us, since we want a lot of outdoor pics. July....ehhh....we weren't crazy about the dates available at the Swan Club. (I need even numbers or else the world falls off of it's axis!)
So basically we were down to - in terms of pricing - a Friday night or Sunday afternoon. We preferred a Sunday afternoon. They tossed out some dates and I said 'we're open to Father's Day too'. Father's Day - 6/20/2010 - was open AT A DISCOUNT compared to all of the other Sundays (woohoo!!!), fit my need to even numbers, and it meant that I'd be a June bride!!!
Now it means a lot, because my dad says he's getting a son for Father's Day! Awwww. (It's just my sister and I, no brothers)

Re: ~*~QOTD 10/06/09*~*
lets see......we started dating on May 25th 2006....and FH's favorite number is 25 so we really wanted something as close to our anniversary as possible with 25. When we looked at May 25th it falls on a Tuesday which is no bueno. We Checked June and we probably could of done June 25th on a Friday but we really wanted a Saturday Wedding so we went with the 26th. so our dating anniversary is 5-25 and our wedding anniversary is 6-26. Also I got engaged on 9-26 soooo.....flip the 9 around and you get our wedding date! (lol well I thought that was cool)..... so in conclusion even though we wanted a 25 date.....i think the 26 we'll be our new favorite number

We really wanted to get married on ou five year anniversary which is May 1st, 2010. But one of our 'dear friends' decided that even though she got engaged well after us AND asked me what date I was hoping for, she just HAD to book her wedding for April 21st, 2010. (I hope she's on here and sees this. ) But, we'll be just as happy to be married 2 weeks after our anniversary!

No, I knew I wanted late summer.... Actually I wanted May but a friend of mine who got engaged first booked her wedding for July 9th so we felt we should wait....
So we went to JT and said give us what you have available for Late Aug beginning of Sept. So, we went with Aug 27th... Honestly it has no special signifigance... UNTIL NEXT YEAR that is!!!
Oh also.... bc I am a greedy Biotch... my b-day is in June, I didn't want it to close to my b-day so I can space out my gifts.. haha

We wanted to get married on May 28 - which would be our 4 year dating anniversary and 1 year engagement anniversary but that landed on a Friday and we wanted a Saturday wedding.
So then we figured we might as well get married in June b/c it would be warmer. We wanted any Saturday in June except father's day weekend.

Re: ~*~QOTD 10/06/09*~*
no not really....originally i really wanted october since we started dating 10/5 (yup yesterday was 5 years!) but I would not compromise on the day of the week, we really wanted a saturday evening. It was just easier since we live in CT now. So since saturday evenings are still really pricey, our BM told us he could do better in January and even better Feb/Mar.....so we choose January....but I still wanted everything decorated for Xmas, so thats how we ended up with 1/2

My date is random June 6, 2010 but for the 1st month after we booked it I kept confusing the date and telling people 6/10/10. LOL! After many times of embarrassing myself with family, friend and vendors the date now sticks.

We picked our day bc I wanted June (but not the weekend of fathers day or fmils new anniversary) so 6/6/10 was the first availability for Sunday and we took it. Its D-day. lol (the day of the invasion of Normandy in 1944).
But I later realized that our official dating anniversary is 1-6-01 and now our wedding anniversary is 6-6-10 (so it worked out cute)

Re: ~*~QOTD 10/06/09*~*
There are so many reasons our day is our day;
Before we were engaged (like a year before) I was fooling around on the knot, and they make you choose a date when you sign up. I knew I wanted a Saturday late summer/early fall wedding, preferably Sept. Tryng to keep our wedding and anniversary away from all the family birthdays that 99% take place before July, away from our current aniversary in Jan and Valentine's in Feb. Our wedding date needed to be seperated from the madness of the first half of the year, and we didn't want it near the holidays either so Sept weas good.. Didn't want Labor Day, didn't want my parents anniversary (16th) SO I chose the 24th in 2011... 2011 because I want to be done with school and the bar and we wanted the extra time to save and pay things off.
Fast forward, we get engaged, and I'm looking at the calendar with FMIL. Forgetting the whole Knot thing, I go through the same exact reasoning I did then and wound up, again with the 24th. I call my mom to tell her and she tells me that's my grandmother's birthday (Who passed away when I was 16), which I didn't realize so I'm super happy about that. And Dad almost cried when I told him.. I tell FMIL this and she says her mother passed away on the 22nd, so it'll be really nice to honor both grandmas at the wedding since neither of us have grandparents who will be there.
SO something just keeps bringing me back to this date over and over. Grandma perhaps? Both of them? I only realized the whole knot.com thing when I went to sign back in a couple of weeks after the proposal and I saw the date I had chosen and it all came back to me.
The date became very important when I was booking the RH. ANd believe it or not 2 of them told me it was already booked! So I skipped those places. Its' the ONE thing I was not willing to give up.

Well, it started off being a really random date- FH can only take his vacation from May thru September and I always wanted to get married in the spring (but more towards March), so I figured May would work. I picked the 15th because I wanted a Saturday wedding and my b-day is the 30th, my mother’s b-day is the 1st of May, so I wanted to keep it far enough away from either b-day…It turns out that that day is the day my great-grandma passed (years and years ago), it’s my great Aunt’s b-day (who recently passed) and it’s my uncle & aunt’s anniversary…So, it’s not that random after all

I originally wanted July 17th... it was the day that my sister was originally supposed to get married at the Coral House but then she got knocked up and moved it up to January! lol... we settled on the 16th because it was a butt load cheaper
