***********QOTD 10/10/10*************

Girls I just want to say that I have enjoyed being BOTW, so very much and thank you Amanda for giving me the chance to showcase all my bridal knowledge! I loved getting to know all of you through your answers and I really appreciated all you girls that got deep and let it all out!!!!!
So here is my last question for the week, this actually happened to my SIL: What would you say if someone asked you or FH if they could propose to their significant other at the wedding in front of all your guests? How would you feel, POed or honored? What are your thoughts on this idea is it rude or an honor? Has anyone come across this situation yet?

Hell no, this is not going down at my wedding!!!!!!!!! I feel like the wedding is mine and FHs special day and I wouldn't want to share it with another couple. I am not usually a selfish person at heart, but I wouldn't like another couple stealing our thunder!!!!! FH would prob drop the guy on his head

As nice as it is that these people would think of our special day as a very special day, I would not give them permission. Like I said, this is MY & FH'S special day, sorry but it's NOT to be shared with anyone else. The only person I am giving any highlight to is one of my besties who's bday is actually that day - she might get a special happy birithday sung to her.

yes..um....Nooooo!

I would prob not be thrilled in any way if someone did that at our wedding!

It would take the focus off of us and thats just not fair. it wouldnt be respectful in my eyes if someone were to do that...

umm..yeah. never happen.
i would flat out tell them that i would think your gf would prefer a more romantic, private setting and not to do it our wedding.
i am selfish like that.

yeah...no way.... Im sorry but if the boyfriend cant think of a better way to propose than he better start reading up. My one and only bridezilla moment... ITS MY DAY!!! and I love all of my friends dearly but that is not going to happen. Why would that guy want to do it then anyway?

Dont Steal My Thunder!

I'd hate that if i was the bride or the girl being proposed to. Id want my wedding to be about us. After all that planning, i wouldnt want it remembered as the day so and so got engaged.

And if it were me being proposed to, if be upset we'd always be linked to someone else's wedding!

I think it's kind of rude. I mean really its someone elses day why would you deliberately take their thunder away from them?? Id freak out to be honest and have them tossed out. :)

I would not be upset because it's still my day. Plus I will be on the dance floor, I cannot control all the tables at my wedding.

rudeeeeeeee and so uncreative! i would say that i think there might be a more appropriate time that both he and the bride-to-be would appreciate more. i'd tell them it would make a lame story and people would roll their eyes.

pretty much my answer is a NOOOOOOOOOOO

One of my moms sisters got engaged at the other sisters wedding- Crazy

I can see someone doing that and not telling us. Hell no - It is our day. This would get me fuming. I would make sure the dj played the music so loud no one could talk about and sure as hell make sure they didnt announce it!- I could see FBIL (Best man) doing it in the speech-- id take the mic and start the music and not congratulate them. that is rude

This is such a good question. I honestly don't know how i would feel. I don't think I would say no to the person, but i probably would be very upset on the inside.

That happened at a wedding my landlord went to and we knew my fh groomsman was going to propose to his gr so around our engagement party we wanted to make sure he was going to do it at our party and he even said that had crossed his mind. If someone happens to do that at my wedding they will immediately be asked to leave that is so wrong. I didn't do anything at their events don't do it at mine

absolutely not!

that would take the spotlight off the bride & groom

that is not an honor, that is a slap in the face!

I would feel honored. I honestly wouldn't care if someone proposed to their significant other at my wedding. I don't think that my FH would mind either. I don't really care if anyone wears white either. Those types of things don't bother me, THERE ARE WORSE THINGS THAT COULD HAPPEN!!!!! LOL

i honestly don't know how i would feel about it. Right now I say I'm okay with it but i'd probably be upset that somebody was taking the attention away from us.

omg this is actually a secret fear of mine! I dont know why but I always feel like it might happen to us. Honestly, like you said, I'm not normally a selfish person, but this would really upset me! By the time we get married, FH & I will have been together for 12.5 YEARS! We waited long enough and deserve for that 1 day to be about us - that would bring me to have a bit of a bridezilla moment lol
