**QOTD: 10.10.11**

Original post by gmcamp

Thanks again to Lisamarie for choosing me as BOTW!

Here is my first question as BOTW:

If you could have any person in the world, alive or deceased, at your wedding who would it be?

For me it would without a doubt be my grandpa. I grew up with him being downstairs from me and didn't move out until I was 21. Needless to say, we were extremely close. Losing him was by far the most difficult thing I've ever had to deal with, and honestly I will never be over it. I would give anything to have him at my wedding.

Don't feel pressured to give a serious answer!! By all means if your choice is Michael Jackson, say so!

My brother who passed away about 4.5 yrs ago from Cancer. I will have him there in spirit, and in my FG who is his daughter.

My brother. He was my only sibling and absolutely my best friend. He passed away in a car accident. Hoping to not get overly emotional on the day of (I'm not an emotional person). I would give anything for him to be there but I know he will be in spirit!

Although sad, this is a great question because I've been trying to think of something special (but not too in your face) to honor him. I was thinking a small toast to all those who can't be with us but are here in spirit, or I saw at one wedding a 'in lieu of favors a donation has been made to XYZ charity' and I was thinking we could do that for his memorial scholarship fund.' However, I think we are having favors so any other ideas?

I am putting a picture of my grandfathers on my bouquet. So they can be 'close' to me the whole day.

Something like this http://becominghismrs.blogspot.com/2009/10/family-at-my-fingertips.html

That is beautiful! Thank you :)

My FH's father. His father passed away before we even started dating. My FH always tells me how he thinks his Dad would have loved me. I wish I could have met him, and wish that he could be part of our special day too

It would have to be my brother Nicky Boy. He passed away 23 years ago when he was only 6yrs old. He was born with several heart issues & died during his third surgery. We were very close & it still hurts every day. Even though so many years have pasted I still miss him greatly & get upset thinking about the fact he can't be here or will never be able to experience what I am going through.

Either FH mother or father. I can not imagine how hard it is going to be for FH to not have either of them (or any of his grandparents) at the wedding.

FH grandfather died at the end of September and that was really hard because it was the last surviving grandparent.

After losing a mom and a step mom and finally coming to terms with it, for me- I'd be too sad afterwards to only have either one of the just for the day. So, I'd have Taylor Swift there singing a few songs.

Definitely my grandparents. My mom and I lived with them my whole life and they were always there for me. My grandfather died when I was 16 and my grandmother 3 months before I got engaged. I had a meltdown when I started looking at wedding dresses and couldn't ask her opinion. We sent birthday balloons to Heaven with my Nephews for her birthday, I think I may send an 'Invitation' balloon.

Such an emotional thread I can't even bear to be silly on it.

I think silly is totally needed.

My silly answer would most definitely be Pauly from Jersey Shore as my DJ

I agree everyone made this so emotional. I thankfully have not had many family members pass away that were super close to me!

for me it would be hard to choose....it would either be my grandfather who I lost 5 years ago and think about every single day, he was such a huge part of my life or my friend Ruthie would passed away last year suddenly at 34 years old. She meant so much to me and we were so close, she's that person that would have had a grin ear to ear and been dancing the night away on our wedding day....she will be greatly missed at our wedding.

I would pick my dad. He passed away a long time ago, but for big things like this, it still hurts. By the way guys thanks for making me an emotional mess!

I can't believe some of the hardships some of you girls went through!! I've only experienced a big loss once and sometimes you feel like you're the only one going through it and feel so alone. But obviously we've almost all been through something like that...and are able to freely speak about it, which is pretty amazing to me.

Hugs to everyoneee!!!!!
