How did your FH pick your engagement ring??

Actually my friend at work is a jeweler and she showed me this setting. I went home and told Rich about how gorgeous this ring. Well he actually got in touch with her behind my back and bought it from her!! I was so surprised when I saw it!!

I couldn't walk after foot surgery when FH decided to propose. He was home all the time taking care of me, making food, helping me to the bathroom , showering me, getting me in bed. He would even come home from work during lunch every day to make sure I ate. We did this for 6 weeks. About a week in to it he made the decision to propose and felt he couldn't leave the house too long to go look at rings. He ordered one online, rushed it to the house in time for New Year's and proposed on New Year's Eve. He's always saying he wants to 'upgrade' my ring because he didn't pick it out in person but I think it's beautiful and I'll never give it up!

i told him the style i liked and he picked it out wtihout me knowing! i love it!

I had no idea when proposed! So I had never ever mentioned rings to him and I still have no idea how he picked it out!

My FH asked me what kind of ring I wanted after like 3 months of dating. I originally said I wanted a radiant cut diamond in a pave setting.
Then months went by, and in January I noticed on his PC that he was researching engagement rings on the internet (I swear I wasn't snooping!! total accident)..
Anyway along this time there was another ring I fell in love with after picking up OK Magazine w/ Katherine Heigl's wedding story. On the cover was her pear shaped ring in a diamond setting. I dind't know how to tell FH I changed my mind, until January when I caught him.
He said if I changed my mind I needed to tell him. LOL So I handed him the pic w/ the new ring.
Then since it was SO DIFFERENT from my original idea, we went to try it on a week later.

Then in July we got engaged =)

We were actually in San Fran and went browsing for rings, having no idea we would get one but fell in love with this one store!! FH had just had surgery and I kept saying he should go home and rest but he wanted to go look. We tried on rings for like two days, and finally fell in love with this one setting. I didn't see it with the diamond in it, just the setting, so FH picked that out, and had them make one or two changes and I didn't see it until he proposed. I could only remember a little what it looked like and kept trying to find pics on the internet but they didn't have any! Luckily I still LOVED it!

i told my sister's what kind of style i was looking for and he did A LOT of research, he had a few people that had jeweler friends and he wanted to make sure he got the best one. so he had a diamond distributer in NY send a diamond that FH picked himself to a setting guy in pittsburgh, who overnight it to him. it is 100% absolutely perfect and it is just incredible.

I had showed him what I wanted, but he actually spent a lot of time looking and going to different jewelers before he finally chose mine, which is a little different from what I showed him but I LOVE it because it's a combination of both of our tastes!!

My friends husband is in gems. So he brought a bunch of center stones & we choose that first. then he brought home to us a bunch of different settings & Fh knew what i liked. So the setting was made.

He researched diamonds and the settings. I was looking into buying a blue topaz ring (just because lol) & I liked the cushion cut stones so he went to the Diamond district in the city and picked out a cushion cut diamond & a beautiful pave setting!

I was kind of giving him ideas of what I liked.. then he went with my sister and mom to look at rings/diamonds. Then he decided what he wanted and the jeweler made it for him.

it is his mom's diamond. he wanted something special to pass down.

We had gone to Fortunoff's and looked at a bunch of rings... and of course the one I fell in love with was $20k.

He went to a jeweler a few weeks later and showed him what it looked like and he was able to design it for him. (with a slightly smaller center stone.)

He asked me one day what I liked so I emailed him a few pictures of styles i liked.. He ended up finding a jewler that carried one of the ones I sent him and buying it 6 months later... So i guess technically you can say i picked it out

based on something i loved when we went shopping.....he didnt actually propose until a year later, but he wanted to see what I liked, and how different cut stones looked on my hand

I wanted a round solitaire in a specific simple cathedral setting. He did a ton of research on diamonds and shopped around until he found the perfect one! The size was up to him and he did VERY well!

I actually had no idea that he was looking ! I was totally surprised and the ring is perfect. I felt like it was made just for me. He did a great job!

My sister told him the stone that I wanted and then he went and picked the setting with it. I really didn't have a good idea of what I wanted at the time other than the rock

i picked the design and emailed it to him and he had it made for me!
