Last year we split up for Thanksgiving...it was awful and I will never do that again. We are engaged now so I feel that we should share all holidays together.
This year we are doing Thanksgiving with his family and Christmas with my family. I have a brother and a sister who are both married. My mom would prefer to have all or nothing with her kids on holidays, so every other year my mom and step dad will be alone for Thanksgiving. Its not too bad for them...this year they are doing a cruise to the Panama Canal over Thanksgiving!!!

Its very easy for us...
Christmas Eve is with his family (hisuncle usually throws abig Xmas Eve party). Then Christams morning we go to Fh's parents until noon &then we go tot my sister's house for the rest of the day & night. We have a big XMAS DAY PARTY! New Years Eve My fam always has abig NYE PARTY AS WELL> ITS SO MUCH FUN!

This is a hard one for us too. All of our holidays except for thanksgiving have been kind of figured...not the word kind of lol. Thanksgiving has been separate for the past 3 years and then we do desert with each family, obviously that will have to change this year. For all of the other holidays FH's brother has kind of set the trend since he's already married, we spend Christmas eve with my family and christmas day with his and new years eve with his family (my mom doesn't mind because she goes to parties). Easter we alternate. I have a feeling it's not going to be that easy anymore.

So annoying and difficult. Both of our families are very possessive.
We usually just pray that it works out for the best so we dont have to spend the whole time on the road
We usually do half the night at one and half at the other and the same thing for xmas day

Usually we stay pretty much with our own families. The first year we had just known each other for about a month and a half come Christmas, so obviously we didnt spend holidays with the families. As the years went on, we did split time. On Christmas Eve and Thanksgiving sometimes FH would come for dessert, and once I think I went to his family on Christmas Eve. New Years I always spend with his family, whether it be immediate or extended.
Once we're married, I think we're going to end up spending more time with his family than mine for the holidays, because they're the bigger partiers. I'd like to keep Christmas Eve with my family, since that's usually our bigger holiday. If FH had his way, he's spend every holiday with his family, so I don't know exactly yet what our compromise will be.

it works out great for us..we spend both by both houses..half day by me then go by him..vice versa

fh comes over my parents house Christmas eve and then sleeps over into Christmas day... we then have dinner with my family and go over his family's house at like 6pm or so for desert. fh's mom has passed away and he isn't close to the rest of his family so that is why we spend so my time at my families house

We both dont have huge families that we spend the holidays with - just our parents and brothers and sisters -since we have been together we split up the holidays...not htat we are getting married, we are going to probably do the holidays together....

Such a complicated one! We try to split it up where we are at Christmas Eve with his fam and Christmas day with mine. My fam doesn't celebrate Easter and its a big deal for his fam so I have been trying to convince him that we should always do Thanksgiving with my parents and Easter with his. We'll see how that goes!

The first two years of our relationship was a little tough with the holidays. We tried to split up every holiday and it was annoying to drive back and forth. Not only did we spend half of the time driving, but we also almost always missed dinner. Now, we decided that we are going to go one holiday with my family and one with his. It just works out so much better.

Both of his parents have passed, but we still spend time with his family on the holidays. Usually we do both on Thanksgiving, first my family and then go to his grandparents. Christmas eve, we go to his uncles, christmas morning is my family, and then go to see his family.

Since we got engaged we decided to take turns each holiday....thanksgiving with my family last year so we will have thanksgiving with his family this year...this really seems to work and no one had a problem with it.

Ours is an issue. His family makes a bigger deal out of Christmas Eve so I go to NJ. But its a pain because Christmas morning is a huge tradition in my house so waking up in NJ is a problem. And being an only child my mom gets so upset I am missing. So I get up early and drive home alone. Then to make it worse he's supposed to do Christmas dinner with my family but his mom gets upset so he ends up eating two dinners and getting to ours late. Were going to have to figure something out when were married.

aww. im not an only child but im the only girl and im VERYYYYY close to my parents so its sad if im not there. lol im getting upset right now haha.

Well it all depends... Xmas eve his mom does but, we should be with my family on the Day of but, sometimes he is a PITA or should I say his mom but, Im with my family that day and he better learn thats how it will be if we do his family on the eve Thanksgiving, since we have dogs, we do it with me family since the dogs are invited,lol the holidays it depends on who is having it and where
