I know a lot of us are obsessed with food, and our respective RH food, whether it's cocktail hour food, main course food, dessert, or all of the above.
Certain foods are 'subject to market availability' (which always scares me, personally) and your RH may reserve the right to 'substitute' if necessary.
Let's say you have your biggest obsession with a particular app, dish, etc. And you get to your RH and find that it's been substituted with something else, or, part way through - they run out of it. How would you, as the blushing bride, handle this? Address it then? Bridezilla moment? Address it after the fact? Demand compensation????
p.s. I do NOT wish this upon anyone!!!
I think I'd rather something be completely substituted then have them run out. I'd be really embarassed if my guests were ordering a main course and they were told 'sorry, you have to pick something else' - i'd rather it just not be there to begin with. Either way, I'd definitely be disappointed, but it's probably something I'd let go at the time - no use in getting worked up when it's beyond my control. Even afterwards I probably wouldn't make a fuss, but that's just me... what about you????

Wow! i dont know what I would do. Since I dont want to be stressed on my day I think i would send my brother to talk to them. Knowing him, he would get me monetary compensation plus a substitution.

I would probably not say anything until afterwards. I would rather them just substitute the food, which is better than them running out as you said.

The running out would seriously concern me. Actually the substitution would be concerning if only because wouldn't they have known a couple of days beforehand they wouldn't have enough or something? They should have come to me first.
But I wouldn't be stressing it on my day. If it said in my contract I was supposed to get x, y, z then I'd take it up with them afterwards.

I wouldn't even care the day of. The guests wouldn't know the difference. So I would just let it go.

I think I would march in the kitchen and prob throw a fit. Cocktail hour is filled with delicious little things and they all better be there...that's all I have to say!

I'd demand a partial refund from the RH after the wedding is over.

honestly as long as the food good, I dont care what they serve. I tasted the food at my RH, also heard a lot of great reviews, so I have full confidence in that they know what they are doing when it comes to food. And I too would prefer for the to substitute rather than running out. Now running out of a dish would what get me really upset! I cant even imagine how will that go with my Russian family - all of my loving judgmental aunts and uncles. Oh boy!

My guest would never know as long as the quality of what I oringial picked is good, I would also want to find out ASAP, knowing me I would not deal with on the day of my wedding and if it was a real big issue ( it was poor quality food)I would make a complaint but after the wedding, but it really will not be worth the aggervation at that point either I would just post it in my review afterwards on lIW of any dissapointments!

I don't really think there is any dish that would be hard to get ingredients for. I'm a simple lady. But I'd probably ask them to substitute something comparable to it and be done with it. Our venue provides NINE entree choices- the guests won't even know their missing anything!

Unfortunately there's nothing that could really be done at that point on the day. But I'd definitely be discussing it with them after the fact.

i don't know what I would do..inside I would probably be saying a million curses but outside doing calming breaths and asking them to make more of something better. I really don't know..I want food food food and quality at that. I want mini ice cream cones now that I saw them on my fair wedding the other day.

I agree with you...I would rather it not be offered than have them run out. I would address it after the fact. chances are I would not deal with it until after aand expect compensation!
