QOTD 11.3.13
Good morning ladies, FH and I have our last Pre-Cana session today and I have to say it wasn't so bad, I thought it was going to be all religious stuff but it wasn't. Anyway today's questions is a topic that was brought up and I thought it was a good question. How are you and FH going to handle finances once you are married? Joint accounts? Separate accounts?
Right now FH and I have separate accounts even though we live together, I know we will open a joint savings account once married. I'm on the fence about joint everything, then FH will be able to see all my secret purchases
but I'm sure eventually we will combine all accounts.

We have separate checking accounts and a joint checking/savings that we opened because of wedding stuff. It will stay that way upon marriage.

right now we have separate savings accounts, separate checking accounts, and a joint savings account. most likely we will keep the checking separate and combine the savings upon the wedding.

We have a joint checking account which we both feed, but I have a separate checking and savings account for my stuff. He has a savings account as well. I'm cool with how things are going so far. We share one debit card, and take turns with it, depending on who needs it. And we go over all purchases over $50 prior to making them. So far so good.

Right now we have separate checking and savings accounts. We do share two common credit cards though, for food, groceries, etc. After we're married, we'll probably open a joint checking/savings account.

We have separate accounts and one mutual account for wedding stuff. I suppose we are the minority on this topic because after we get married we are merging everything.

We have always had separate checking and savings accounts and will continue to do so. When we bought our house, we opened a joint checking account and that has worked well for us too.Welcome New Vendors
