Morning ladies! Happy NOVEMBER!!! I can't believe it's November already - 2010 is almost upon us!!!
Today's question - will you be calling FH's parents mom and dad (as applicable)? What about FH - will he call your parents mom and dad? If not, what will you/he call them? If your situation is one that you're not able to answer this question, what are your thoughts on it generally speaking?
For me... I call FH's mom by her first name. I have been doing so for 7 years, and am not about to change that now! FH thinks its awkward if i called her 'mom' and quite frankly I have no desire to do so! FSIL calls her 'mom' and it's really weird bc they don't have the best relationship. I've only met FH's dad 2x (they're divorced, he lives in Florida). I don't think I ever called him anything and when the occasion arises I don't know what I'll do (first name vs. Mr. *****) I could never in a million years see FH calling my parents mom and dad. I actually don't know what he calls them now (it could be a 'hey, ....you' thing for all I know). My BIL's call them by their first names, so I'm guessing that is what FH will be doing when the situation arises.
I'm curious to see what all of you have to say!!!

not really sure...LOL this is a tough one!
FH dad passed away 3 yrs. ago. I call his mom Mrs. She's engaged to a man who is a doctor so we actually both call him ''doc' Not sure if that will all stay the same or not.
My parents are both divorced and re-married b/c I call my 'step' parents by their 1st name, so does FH. He also calls both my mom/dad by their first name, but I don't think he has used them often!

I know he is going to call my parents mom and dad and I know his parents would like me to call them mom and dad. I love his parents but I am SO close with my family - espically my mom - that I find it hard to call them that. But we'll see!! I am sure I will get used to it.

Well, unfortunately, FHs parents are deceased. So I don't have the luxury of making that decision. But i put 'uncle' and 'aunt' in front of the uncles and aunts 1. b/c he does and 2. b/c they're older, like late 50s! It's a respect thing for me.
If FHs parents were alive, I'd probably just call them Mr. ___ or Ms.___, until they told me otherwise.

I already call the fil's mom and dad. I wasd brought up with my parents calling the others mom and dad so it doesn't seem weird to me at all. Dave doesn't call mine mom and dad but by their first names. I don't know if that will change once we are married.
