FH and I work in the same career field, which is very specialized (we met though our classes in graduate school). People are always telling us to start our own company together. So I'm wondering...
Do you/could you ever work in the same office as your FH?

FH and I are both teachers and currently work in 2 schools that are about 4 blocks from one another. I think we could absolutely work in the same building, no problem!

never worked with FH but my job isn't a normal job. though if I did have a normal 9-5 job like him I couldn't do it. he'd hate me lol. he's such a hard worker. his bff he used to work with he'd complain constantly how he liked to spend more time talking, hanging out then actually working.
that'd so be me lol.

Thats so hard for me to answer, because it really would never happen in real life. FH is a mortgage broker and I'm a clinical dietitian in a hospital setting. He probably wouldn't think it was a good idea.....I know for a fact he eats like crap when he's at the office (pizza fridays, shake shack on the regular) and he wouldn't want my disapproving eyes there

FH and I actually met at work, so we did work together years ago! LOL! I don't think we could do it again though. I like going my way and him going his and we meet back at home at the end of the day. We have different stories, different experiences... So, I like not working together!

Yes, absolutely. As a hobby, he's into videography and I am a commercial photography student so people are always telling us we should start a business. I don't know if we ever would but, I have entertained the notion of working together before. Based on our history, we'd get along very well in a professional environment.
But, it is nice to be able to 'miss him', when he's at work

FH and I met at work! We're both retail managers and met when he was a new hire. His direct supervisor sent him to my store for me to train him. He was in my store for two weeks and it was if we knew each other forever. When he went back to his store in Westchester we kept in touch and the rest is history! It was so fun working with him we would be on conference calls together and then when it was over we would call each other and make fun of everyone haha. Ooh and we used to always be on the phone when we had to submit reports. We are both now at different companies and now since we're engaged it would def be a conflict of interest but I loved when we worked together. Some of our greatest memories!

I wouldn't want to work with FH, I love him to death, but I like being on my own all day. I tend to be the big mouth in the relationship so I know he wouldn't want me bossing him around all day

I don't know to be honest...we have two completely different professions. I'm a teacher and he's a court officer. I feel like part of what I'm going to look forward to is going home to him at the end of the day - can't do that if we're together 24/7. Could we do it? Absolutely, but I don't think I'd want to.
FH is a lucky guy and can work from home 3 out of 5 days a week as a network security VP for a major bank. I am a producer for a television network and LOVE days that we can both work from home. If we were in an actual office, I'm not sure I could do it since i'd be distracted wanting to talk to him all day hahaha jk really we could probably do just fine if we were in the same place but i like getting to come home and talk about our days at separate places :)

my FH and I met as lifeguards, and he was my boss! lol... although it really isn't the same as working in a regular corporate office or something, we worked well together and got along. Although it does really suck when you're fighting and you don't want others to get involved or know that you are fighting
I don't think I would ever work with my FH in the same office full-time. I just don't think it's healthy to be around each other THAT much, and I think the space apart during the day is good :)

Me and FH could not work in the same office setting.. being as he works in retail.. in seclusion as a stock manager all day.. And I work in an office as a Client Billing Manager.. He is one of the smartest people I know but I think a office setting would bore him! If he wasnt doing what he is doing now and his knees allowed I am sure he would still be in construction.. He loves a more active hands on job..

IF FH and I worked together, we would be fighting all the time. I told him just the other day that we hardly ever argue, let alone fight, because we have separate careers. It's our 'vacation' from each other. LOL

Great question.. FH is a fourth grade teacher and I am an elementary school counselor in a different school. Sometimes I think I would love to work with him, but I am still kind of obsessed with FH (even though its been 6 years, living together for 3 of those). I don't know if I could check my desire to chat with him, eat lunch with him, go into his class for lessons, etc. I also would feel very weird if his name came up in meetings or just even gossip. I think its best that we are separate, though it would be fun for a day or two :)

Our professions are so different so us working together would never happen. FH is an operations manager and I am a registered nurse. If we were within the same network I don't think we could work together. There would be too much distraction and to be honest I love the little I love you and can't wait to see you texts I receive during the day!

We did work together for 6 years. That's actually how we met. He was my trainer at the first restaurant I worked at. We actually even bartended together, which was awesome, except when we were fighting. LOL
We even have friends who started out as our bar regulars, but loved us so much as a couple that we started hanging out together as couples.
