We are having a dove release after the ceremony and I have written a song to sing to FH at the ceremony.

I would say that all of the DYI things will make our wedding unique, I want people to say that is so Marie or that is so Anthony!

Congrats Melissa!
What makes our wedding unique is a couple of things. For the ceremony my uncle is going to play the guitar for when I walk down the aisle with my parents. Then after the ceremony is over a friend is going to walk in playing the bag pipes, walk down the aisle towards us, turn around, and FH and I are going to follow my friend out of the room. For the cocktail hour we are going to have a saxaphone player. The escort cards, my cousin owns a personalizing wine labeling company so she's going to make labels for the bottles and those are going to be the escort cards. The ice sculpture is supposed to be the Stanley Cup (PLEASE )..FH is a HUGE Rangers fan! And we're doing a sports type theme. Our cake topper are characters like us wearing our tux and gown with jersey's over them (I'm Mets and he's Yankees)...we're HUGE sports fans! And FH is going to pick out the names of the tables that are going to be different stadiums around the country for football, baseball, and hockey!
PLUS, we're going to be doing the tradiational Italian dance and the tradiational Jewish dance!

hmmm Im not sure...I think just the little detials like the blue roses and the converse sneakers make the wedding unique to us...but definitly not unique in the big picture since many brides do the converse and stuff like that

I'm hoping that the centerpieces are recognized as being unique.... I'vebeen collecting vintage crystal candlestick and vases and will be giving all to Jenn at Verbena to play with.

Hmmm What makes my wedding unique is all the little special touches that FH and I are working on. Its a surprise.

sorry i didn't see the qotd yesterday, so i had to answer today...
yeah, i agree. i guess in the end the wedding put together will be unique, because no one has done the exact same thing before....but i'm sure each touch has been done. here's some stuff i'm doing:
-my guest book is 'the places you'll go' (dr. seuss) -i'm wearing turquoise ballet slippers -fh is wearing yellow pumas -bridesmaids wearing what they want (in yellow) -no tuxes -candy bar -the ceremony is personalized and non-religious -both parents are walking both of us down the aisle -still deciding whether to have rock band available for guests to play...
