We have all heard the advice of 'don't sweat the small stuff' or 'just relax and enjoy yourself'. But I think it would be really beneficial if you told us about something that maybe you wished you asked before booking a vendor, or maybe something you wished you researched more or maybe something you regret doing. So what advice would you offer future brides about wedding planning?

Be 110% confident in the vendors you chose. If you aren't, change them! Sometimes it's worth losing a deposit when you consider that small amount against the cost of your wedding!

I completely second this....all of my vendors were equally excited to work my wedding as I was to have them and that was key...they all felt like family!!!!!

2 things:

RESEARCH your vendors up and down. Also, make sure you get enough hair/makeup trials to ensure you will be happy on your day. There is so much info on here for these purposes.

This is another thing I wished I knew unrelated to vendors. When I registered, instead of just picking more random stuff for my kitchen, I wish I registered for the honeymoon registries. They are really cool and people can buy you what you want for your honeymoon! Also, pick a store that is close to you, in case you need to do returns. I picked Crate and Barrel which was great, but then to do returns I had to go all the way to Manhasset.

My advice to future brides would be to not get your dress so early in advance...I know it's exciting to find 'the dress' but truly, your vision for your wedding changes and so does how you envision yourself.

My original dress I ordered a year before the wedding date-then I did a re-select 10 weeks later.

So future brides-TAKE YOUR TIME WITH THIS!!

I came at it from a different angle. Where we skimped to save on certain vendors to put that money somewhere else, I wish we wouldn't have. I was disappointed in some of my vendors. Had I spent an extra $1000 here and there I would have been happier in retrospect. I was stupid to think I could pay less for the same quality. Reading mixed reviews and 'hoping for the best'...what was I thinking?

ITA with this. I bought a dress off the rack so that I wouldn't have to worry about it and we could push up our wedding date and then I cried about it for months and ended up buying a 2nd dress.
