~~* QOTD 12/31/13 *~~

Happy New Years Eve!! Ok, so, before I get to the QOTD, I just want to say how excited I am that tomorrow starts 2014 and the first of our brides is getting married THIS Saturday. I've only been on these boards a short time, but I really feel like I'm starting to know you girls and I can't stand how excited I am to celebrate this year with you.

So, I'm at work today (boo) which is unusual for me, since I usually take off the week after Christmas until New Years (school break). Which got me thinking, what do you and FH do for a living? Are you at work today? Keep me company... LOL!

I work for the cable company here on LI, in back end billing administration. I started in customer service and it was one of the worst jobs I've ever had. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with people anymore. FH works in vision care, he makes eyeglasses. He's done it for 16+ years, since he first moved to this country. He works 6 days a week, and for a long time while we were saving to buy our house, he worked 7. He's a machine, lol!

i am at work today ... but only until 12. FH is off.

i'm an executive assistant to the managing partner at a private equity firm in NYC. FH also works in NYC, as a client billing manager for a pharmaceutical advertising company.

~~* QOTD 12/31/13 *~~ - Long Island Weddings

No work for me today! I'm a math teacher so I've had off since the 20th and I go back to work on Thursday. However, this vacation is much needed. I get to work crazy early most of the time to get ready for the day and then I work an after school program and tutor, so most of my work days are 12+ hours.

FH is a NYS Court Officer in Manhattan. He is working today also, but he says that he enjoys this holiday because he doesn't have to worry about waking up early tomorrow. He hates working the day after Christmas!

I'm an administrative assistant and fh is a sanitation worker. We are both off today. It's weird because we are never both off during the week.

I'm at work today too - luckily the office is closing at three! FH is also at work, not sure if he will be leaving early.

I work as an HR generalist in the financial district and FH is a marketing manager focusing on marketing analytics at a large publishing company.

my FH works for the same company as you! lol he loves his job... He works in the design dept and does architecture type work for them. I am a special education teacher and i took a leave replacement for now in hopes that the teacher doesn't come back! Otherwise, I will hopefully get a regular teaching position in the fall. I got my MS in December, so i know that i probably won't find a FT teaching job mid-year

I love my job too! Say what you want about the cable company, it's actually an awesome company to work for! Getting out at three the day before holidays is a pretty good corporate perk!

~~* QOTD 12/31/13 *~~ - Long Island Weddings

I work in Media Relations for LIPA. Today is my last day with with them as PSEG LI is taking over as the new Power Company for Long Island. I will start working for the new company on January 2nd, so today is bitter sweet for me. I love my crazy job. FH is a NYC Detective, he's on the countdown to retirement only 4 years to go..needless to say I'm jealous!!

FH + I are both working from home for a few hours today. He works doing network security for a bank and I'm a producer at vh1. I'm SO thankful to be working from home and not the middle of times square today!

I am off today and FH is working. I am a registered in nurse who works at NSLIJ Southside Hospital in Bay Shore. FH works in commercial sales for Lowes. He has his bachelors in physical education, but can't find a teaching job anywhere.

I'm at work, too. I'm a clinical dietitian at Queens Hospital....hoping to get out a little early. I have to work tomorrow, too, so its to bed before the ball drops. FH went to work today for a few hours....he's a mortgage broker on LI. Of course, he has tmro off, like most people. Trying not to feel bummed...at least I'll eat clean tonight and no drinking to make me feel off my wedding-body track
