~QOTD 12/16~

Sorry a little late today girls... just been one of those days. lol.

Anyways, with the Dress Thread I started the other day, there are just soo many different style dresses....which are all soo beautiful!

How did you know your gown was 'the one'? Did you see it online first, or through a catolog, and then tired it on to be even better? Or, did you just happen to try it on, and just never wanted to take it off? I love hearing how everyone fell in love with their gowns.

For me, I always knew basically what I had wanted... and I was searching high and low to find it. Some of the other styles I totally fell in love with, but once I was able to try it on, I was in love all over again. I stare at my dress whenever FH isn't around. I cannot wait till I get to wear it!!

The dress was not at all what I imagined I would be getting. I originally didn't want strapless or a corset back. My dress is strapless with a corset back.

I just 'knew' when I put it on. It felt great and I could picture myself marrying the love of my life in it.

I didn't even look at a bridal magazine before I went shopping so I was going in blind.

Right now I am in the mist of a toss up between 2 dresses. The one I think is the one.... it TOTALLY not what I thought I would be wearing! AT ALL! And that's my hesitation. So thank you for this!

I almost cried when I had it on... but I held it back. (I dont like to cry in public.) Then a week later I went to another place and tried on another dress and cried because I liked it a lot and now I had 2 dresses I really liked...and so I partly cried bc I liked the 2nd dress but also from confusion and stress and just not knowing which to pick! Too bad I can't just have them both!

I had no idea what dress I wanted when I went shopping. I didn't even really plan on buying a gown the first time my mom and I went shopping, but as soon as I put my dress on, I KNEW it was the one. I didn't want to take it off. I think I was in the gown for like an hour before I finally agreed to take it off!

When I went dress shopping, I just had a vague idea of what I wanted, no pictures or anything. I knew it was the one because of how I felt in it.
Oh and my mom burst into tears when she say me in it lol.

I was actually at a sample sale at POB and was about to walk out because I didn't see anything I liked. Well I took one last look through the racks and my dress was sort of hidden behind all the poofier dresses. As soon as I saw it, I loved it. It's a very simple, yet whimsical Melissa Sweet. I put it on and if fit almost perfectly. I just knew it was the one and I have never once doubted my dress since I bought it :)

I have been looking at dresses for a while and I pretty much knew what I wanted. The dress I envisioned myself in is like the one in my avatar. Nice and big and princess like. But the twist is I didn't want white or ivory, I wanted an ice blue gown. That was the color I always dreamed of wearing on my wedding day. Anyway, I printed out some pics of dresses and I went to bridal store. When I was describing the type of dress I was looking for to the consultant, she noticed the pics in my hand and said 'oh you have pictures. Well let's see what we have here in the store and you can try them all on'. I said fine. I noticed that she grabbed a dress off the rack that I did not recognize and she made a comment as to how that was one of her favorite dresses. I told her that the pic was printed in error and that was not one of my choices. She was VERY persistent that try it on anyway so I did. When I came out of the dressing room, my mother instantly burst in to tears (my mother DOES NOT CRY ) and said that was it. When I saw myself in that dress I felt the same way. The complete opposite of what I would have ever envisioned myself in. I did try on other dresses to be fair to myself but the first was THE ONE!!! Pic of my dress is in my album.

My dress is nothing like what I wanted, I knew I didn't want poofy, but I thought I would have something lacey and with spaghetti straps, because I hate strapless, and more just a straight silhouette. I was obsessed with the red and white Alfred Angelo for the longest time, and even though I tried it on and it looked great, and if there's anybody that can work that type of dress it's me, it just didn't seem right.

I ended up not picking my own dress. I had discovered I liked mermaid/trumpet style from a previous store visit, and I asked the consultant for any mermaids they had. She pulled my dress of the rack, which I had originally passed over, and I crinkled my nose at it and was like bleh! But I tried it on anyways, because why not, and it turned out that on me it was the best one, and the fabric and detailing was so rich, it was perfect for a December wedding.

My mom DRAGGED me to Pronovias. I loved all the dresses I tried on but it was a different dress I dragged my dad back to see. But I had the woman bring in my dress and the one I thought I wanted. I kept trying on both dresses and my parents, knowing I brought them in to see the other dress and both were beautiful. But it was the second time I tried on my original choice that I knew the other dress was the one. I just wanted to take off the dress and put the other one back on.

I knew I wanted a lace gown but then as I kept looking, I also wanted some bling. So when I saw my dress on the mannequin on the store, I knew it was it! I kept coming back to it and I really wanted to try it on. Once it was on, it was definitely the one!

I imagined my dress and am having it made. I went to a million stores and everything I tried on was okay but I never got that WOW feeling. I went in to try my dress on and it was soooooo exciting, I love it and like a lot of girls have said I did not want to take it off.

my dress is nothing like what i had imagined. i wanted a button up back with a straight acress strapless.....what i got was a corset with a sweetheart!

i went to a few different places before i found the dress. i tried it on in a champagne color and didnt really love it. i liked it a lot and my mom cried like a baby when she saw it.

after trying on a few others at a few other places i tried the dress on again (in champagne) and i looked in the mirror and loved it! i had no idea what it would look like in white but i ordered it anyway.

When it came in and i tried it on in white i totally fell in love with it. and this time my dad started crying!

Everytime I looked through a magazine I stopped at my dress. When I went to try on dresses, i found it but i tried it on last. I tried on a few dresses and liked them but when I put my dress on i really didn't want to take it off and i pictured walking down the aisle to FH wearing none other but this dress. It was definitely meant to be!
