Is it proper for the Bride and groom to walk around with a drink in their hand hugging and greet guests at their tables?

to walk around and greet tables i would say no, unless its water, looks kinda tacky ....but on teh dancefloor and at their table i dont see a problem with it

I don't drink much so therefore on my wedding there will be no alcohol drink in my hand except if it's water or soda.......and FH will do the SAME. I've been to wedding where Bride & Groom have drinks in their hands while greeting guests...it looks so TACKY...IMO

i wouldn't walk around on purpose with a drink in my hand but if i happen to see someone i want to say hi to i don't think i would go out of my way to put my drink down just to say hello either.....whatever happens happens....hahah no stress!

i agree that i wouldn't go crazy trying to put it down if someones approaching me, but if im purposefully going around greeting people, no i wouldn't

i was recently at a wedding where the bride had budlight in her hand all night, it looked weird lol

what i am thinking about is having our waiter make 'mock drinks' for FH and I to have throughout the night, like alternate them with real drinks, so that our guests will feel like we're being social, or so we don't insult them if they want to have a drink/shot with us, but at the same time we won't be trashed (think about 150 guests all trying to drink/do shots with us...TROUBLE!!!)

nothing trashier than a bride who can't stand at her wedding

totally agree with drunk brides being trashy....i love to drink but def don't want to be wasted at my own wedding! i am going to limit myself to a few drinks throughout the course of the day.

i also know what you mean about brides looking funny with budlight...I dont know why but i feel like it looks really weird/trashy when a bride carries around a bottle of beer...maybe its bc she is soo dressed up and then has the cheap looking bottle....at least put the beer in a cup!

LOL i know it sounds funny but thats exactly it, ur all dressed up, makeup and hair done, its like u should at least have a pretty cocktail or martini glass in ur hand!!

and ya i like to drink too, i jus posted on a diet post about how i can't cut out the alcohol, but i was in my cousins wedding a few years ago, and she was WASTEDDDDDDDD and she just looked horrible...not for me! the bachelorette party and honeymoon will be my time to get crazy!

UGH!!
One more thing to think about. I guess I will just ask my DOC to make sure I don't have anything in my hand that would be considered tacky.
I've still got this plan that if you want to see me, I'll be the chick with the white dress on in the middle of the dance floor, come say HI!
