~~**QOTD 12/2/09**~~

Since I'm NOT getting up early tomorrow and most of you are apparently in bed for the night anyway, I will post the QOTD now....

Relative to your friends, are you getting married first or last or at the same time as most of them? What about this is good/bad?

With the exception of my best friend from high school who had a very simple wedding in PA, and my other bff who had hers quick at city hall... (in the family way, you know? :wink:), I am the wedding trailblazer in my circles of friends. This is good because I don't have to top anything, I don't have to worry about reciprocating things like gifts or bridal party positions(Is it even, is it fair? I hate that. I won't care if people reciprocate for me, do what you want/have to do!!)...
but also bad, I think, because since my friends don't really have experience with this either, it's harder to get help. They're WILLING to help... but they're waiting for me to tell them what to do and I'm just feeling it out for myself, so I have trouble telling them how to help me... and wondering if anything will get done ( ie, shower??!) if I don't take the reins. I'm a couple years older than my friends from college, they're not even close to geting engaged, and none of us have sisters(!!!) so there's been no examples.

But that's why I have you guys, right??

In regard to my home friends - I am number 3 and then number 4 happens a couple months after me.

Out of my school friends I will also be number 3 LOL

It's kinda nice being in the middle b/c by now everyone has had experience doing these surrounding a wedding. But it's also stressful b/c I do feel the pressure to measure up to things. For ex: I posted earlier this week about BM's gifts. I just got one that was pretty over the top and this is the last wedding before mine, so I'm feeling some pressure to make sure mine are pretty awesome lol.

well...

my one MOH has been married a year and has a 5 month old baby girl.

My friend from work got married this past June.

2 of our friends will be getting married in April 2010.

2 weeks later, FBIL is getting married.

So unless no one else gets engaged and does a shotgun wedding, we will ne next in line lol

We are definitely first. We are both 22 right now. Some may get engaged before our wedding, but I'm sure we'll be the first to get married.

I'm the first of my friends. My friends however arent the settling down types, very sex and the city ladies...I'd be Charlotte if you compared us to the characters.

so far, only one of my best friends has gotten married, but she planned that really quickly. We have another one of our college girls getting married in March, and that's all I know of unless there are any surprises in the next 2 years. I like being one of the early ones bc I don't feel pressure to measure up to anyone, but its also hard being one of the first bc nobody really knows what they should be doing! So glad I found this site - its helped SOOO much already

I'm the 1st out of all of my family and close friends! Its kinda nice b/c everyone is so excited since it's all new. I imagine from here to next Jan. that 2 of my best friends who have been with their bfs longer than I have been with FH will get engaged. So it's nice in a way that everyone will be there but it's also hard going first b/c I dont know what i'm doing really and hopefully it'll all turn out well. One of that bad things is since i'm first and everyone is definitely travelling to come, i'm goign to have to save up lots of $ within the next 2 years to go to all of their weddings which will be all over the world!

Well ouf my close circle of friends, I am #2 in line. I have pro's and cons to this. My friends wedding JUST PASSED (11/6/09) and since she's coming right out of it, she has alot of great advice. She even told me I HAD to join LIW (now I see why..hehe) Since she's done it all and I was in her wedding i'm kinda familiar with alot of the do's and don'ts. Her wedding was spectacular...

Pro's are one being that she's the only one and all the rest of my besties/BM's have not done this before so I'm not able to pick their brains for advice. In addition, after having been in and there to witness the spectacular wedding that I just participated in, i'm finding that there are some elements that I love and so want to incorporate in my own wedding (photobooth, etc.), but due to lack of finances, I may not be able to....I guess if you have no clue what you're missing, you can remain oblivious. But once you've seen it, and fallen in love with it, it's hard coming to terms that you may not be able to have it yourself.....
