QOTD 12/27

How did you pick your wedding date?

I always wanted a Fall wedding b/c of the weather...not too hot and not too cold. Plus I love the Fall colors...browns, oranges, reds etc. I probably wuld have picked Oct...but Nov was cheaper...so I went with the first Sat in Nov b/c it's the day before daylight savings...so I'd get an extra hour of daylight

I really wanted a Sept 09 wedding but FH just took to long to propose - he had the ring in May. If he did it than thats when i would have gotten married.

When he proposed in sept i wanted a 12/09 wedding but FH wasn't having it he said we couldn't do it to people

So I just said March it was the closest month to Dec that we agreed on and Fh picked the 21st because it was the first day of spring

We are getting married the same day my parents got married. we did not pick the date bc of the number combination!!!!

Because of FH's working/racing schedules, we only had from Jan to March of possible dates. I really wanted New Years Eve, but it was going to be way tooo expensive being that halls usually have big parties that day. So picked the 2nd which is close enough and even better its my favorite Aunts wedding date.

We wanted to get married on a 9, and at first we were looking at May9, 2009...But it seemed too close so we moved it back to 1/9/10

we wanted april 10th because that was the anniversary of when we started dating....but it didn't work out so we went with the 30th because its still april, but hopefully we will have nicer weather later in the month.

Re: QOTD 12/27

a few reasons.

1. jackie and i are both very warm blooded. so weddings in July and and August were just not options for us. we would melt.

2. we both love snow and we are hoping with a February wedding, there will be some snow on the ground.

3. Jackie loves the color red. red goes with February

4. most importantly.. i'm a sports MANIAC.. and i dont wanna go on a 2 week honeymoon and miss any football or baseball. February and March were the only 2 months that would accomodate me. lol

it worked out for the best though, because the prices are a lot better in February seeing that it's the 'off-season'. we would have NEVER been able to afford our venue had it not been in February.

people say all the time that we are crazy for having a wedding in the winter because of the snow... but the chances of catching a blizzard are the same chances of catching a monsoon in October, or a thunder storm in May. you take your chances regardless of the time of year

people say that to us about april being so rainy....i mean yes theres a chance it may rain...but you could plan your wedding in july or august and it could rain....theres a chance no matter which day u pick!

People tell me that I am crazy all the time also...But last year in January it was 62 degrees...Its colder then that sometimes in April/may! You have to take your chances

We picked July because we are both teachers and will have a few weeks before the wedding off and a few weeks after for our honeymoon! I only wanted a sat. evening wedding. As much as FMIL tried to convince me how wonderful Sunday weddings are (which they are) I wanted a sat. In my family 17 is a bad luck number (I know some of you are getting married on this day but my family is a crazy Italian family with superstitions galore, and yes, it is ridiculous). it was between 7/24 and 7/31. The 24th was the day we started dating (except in march). So I decided to go with that date! I am also more partial to even numbers.

I am a bit anal lol

i agree with the even numbers...for some reason i did not want to get married on an odd numbered day!

So even before I had any clue my FH was going to propose I kept telling my sister how 2010 would be a great year to get married because the number just seemed pretty (yes I'm weird like that),lol. Then when y FH proposed 3/14/08 we knew 2010 would be the year. This would give us time to save money as well. When it came to the day we looked at 3/14/10 which I think is a Friday but then I remember all the brides that picked 7/7/7 for the combination and thought to look at 10/10/10. When I saw it landed on a Sunday I thought we had to go for it! So yes, we totally picked it for its combination! Although, growing up I had always though I'd get married in the summer but its fun to see how things actually turn out! Also all of us getting married in 2010 are lucky...because of my date I did some internet research and found that 10 is suppose to imply completeness or completeness of order.I think that's kinda a cool for all of us 2010 brides & grooms, lol!

I knew right after he proposed we'd get married in 2010. We had no particular date in mind... So, when we sat down with Banquet Managers we went with the most economical dates which fell between Feb - March. We fell on March 20, 10 by accident, but now I like it because 03/20/10 looks cool :)

I knew it would have to be on a Sun, and really wanted to do it on a three day weekend....I'm not crazy about cold in any way so I thought I had a better chance of having a warm day in Sept, rather than in May for Memorial Day weekend. Sept has so many bdays and anniversary's in my family, so I figured I would add to the fun!!!

i would like to add that after he gave me a choice of months..i narrowed down when i would have my period and chose 4 weekends around that schedule and then just went with what was cheaper.

We decided June bc I love the spring and summer but i know the summer can be too hot and if I get sweaty I know I will not be a nice person same with being in the cold

Re: QOTD 12/27

We knew we wanted a Sat in September. The first Sat is my Moms b'day. Didnt want to do it then, the next weekend is the 11th and for the obvious reasons we stayed away from that date. It also was the anniversary of my Brothers first marriage. So the next one was the 18th so we picked that
