We hate the heat so the winter was the front runner. Once we started pricing places, we knew we would not be able to afford all we wanted any other time. Sundays are cheaper but the day is the day before martin luther kong jr day, so the majority of people have off the next day... making it like a Saturday at heart

i wanted a saturday night wedding, i knew i couldn't afford it in the summer, so then i went around school schedules (my school vacations and FH's grad school breaks), march 27 worked out to be the beginning of FH's spring break and the week before easter which would mean only 3 days of school the following week.

No rhyme of reason just picking a date that is available.

i do have to say though... we went on a cruise this past May... and we played roulette everyday in the casino... and the numbers 2-20 (wedding date) and 3-23 (started dating) won us a lot of money overthe course of the week. we actually used that money to buy our wedding bands. well... my wedding band... jackie wedding band number 1 of ???

we wanted a spring 2010 wedding, we knew that. at first we wanted march (over lent sometime) but the church wouldn't marry us then. it was also over my spring break from work which would have worked out nicely. so instead we went with memorial day weekend may 29. and it works cuz we both have off that monday and then we'll just take extra days off from work

well our original date was may 23 2009 and since we postponed it, i wanted the same typeof wedding. So instead of memorial day weekend 09, its now memorial day weekend 2010-it was an easy choice and i was super thankful my RH still had it available!

Re: QOTD 12/27

We knew we wanted a January Wedding, December is to packed with Birthdays and Holidays, February flowers are too expensive, and we both prefer winter over most of the other seasons, with the exception of Fall. Budget also played in, January was less expensive.

We chose the Sunday of MLK Day Weekend because of the 3 day holiday, we have quite a few OOT guests that we are inviting, and it is easier for them to fly in on a Saturday and out on Monday if they dont have to worry about missing work or school
