Do you both want to stay on LI/QUEENS..do you want to live somewhere else....kids....travel....what do you and fh want for yur life together?

Re: QOTD 12.29.08

Mine is to not rent for too much longer and buy a beautiful home in the same area that we are in now. Sometime in between there we both want to start a family as well...God willing at least 2 kids which we've already named...lol I'd like to be able to stay at home and not work so that I can raise my own children the way my mother did. THe way fh's mother did. I want to travel the world...even if its our 1 vacation a year...I can deal with that...anything more than that will have to wait until retirement...lol I want to rebuild my fathers house and barn in Croatia so that we can always go back to a country that also feels like home to me and have a piece of history to sleep in. I want to stay in touch with the friends that I hang out with every weekend...some of which are the same friends I hung out with every weekend when I was 15 (which was in 1992) I want to remain young at heart. Nothing to fancy for me...family and friends is my main wish....I really just want to be a mother....a mother to a child who has such an amazing father....

My dream is to buy a beautiful house in Westchester, have 3 children and maybe one day have my own business. I would love to be my own boss but also have a job where I can make my own hours and be home as much as possible with my children. I have a feeling none of this will EVER happen but hey, a girl can dream!

We would love to sell our places (we each own condos) and buy a beautiful home in South Merrick. Do a ton of fixer upper projects and create our dream home together. We want to get our house in order and travel before we get pregnant. I'm also dreaming of a new position in my company that I can work the same hours every day, Monday through Friday-hopefully after kids though I can cut down work hours and be part time. Ahhhhhhh that would be nice.

buy a house with a big kitchen in a quiet neighborhood on a piece of property with lots of gardening potential--flowers, vegetables, blackberry bushes and fruits trees. we figure we'll look mostly at the stretch between islip and blue point as well as the hauppauge/smithtown area. we've always wanted to do renovations ourselves, work on it every saturday and it feels good because it's ours. have a couple of babies; continue to travel as often as possible. i don't think i'll be a classroom teacher forever--that's just a hunch--but my other possibilities are so scattered at this point. in the end we've talked about opening a book shop and cafe off the coast of s. carolina when we retire, live in the apt upstairs, buy a boat and live the small town life.

To buy a house, big enough to entertain both of our families all the time, spending time with our families is very important to us and unfortunately, in our townhouse we only have room for about 10 people at a time, comfortably. Have 2 or 3 children, I would love to be able to stay at home with my children until they are teenagers, but we'll see, I'm a bit of a workaholic so I think I may need to work at least part time. I want to travel and show not only FH, but also our children the wonderful places in the world that my parents took my siblings and I to. And to just LIVE... not stess the small stuff and enjoy what we have.

We will prob be moving to the D.C. area for FH's job. I would love to own a row house on capital hill, but that is a far shot they are million $ homes. Most likely I would like to rent a few years and live in the city. Then buy a home in virginia or maryland close to work but more for our money. I think living in the city once we had kids would be not really our thing. I want to start and finish my next degree super fast. We really want to start TTC once we are a bit more settled. I want to get my masters first, and FH wants to be secure in his new career. I kinda feel like if we don't buy a home before we have a baby it will take even longer. So maybe house first then I really want to be a mommy. A stay at home mommy. I think FH could work our schedules so one of us is always home. Or I could work a few days here and there in a hospital.

You will love DC. I miss it every day since I left. I wouldn't go back there now, because its a transitional city so almost all my friends have left except my bm, and fh is from farm country so Long Island is to built up for him. But I miss it so much. If you any tips before you move down there let me know. But I would live outside the city in Bethesda from the get go. They say people in Bethesda are so much happier then people in the city because its cleaner, safer and with the metro right there its an easy ride into downtown. Great restaurants there too. I think I need me a DC visit.

Re: QOTD 12.29.08

I would like to stay here on Long Island, near mom and dad. I hope FH continues to do well in his job and move up (I actually wish oil prices would rise). I know he would love to be able to open his own marina someday. I would love it for him to make enough that I can be a stay home mom. I know they are a dying breed, but it was so nice to have my mom around all the time and so involved in my school. But I am content with not being a stay at home mom. I am going for my degree in education, but really, ideally, in my dream world, I would stay in film and work as an film editor because I could probably do a lot of it from home and its a creative outlet. But in my dream world there would be a steady stream of work to support me in that field. I want two kids, so does fh, and I am hoping for one of each. or two girls. I pray I have a daughter!!!

FH and I will buy a house in the next two years whether it's his Parents' house or another one. Travel, still work the same jobs we already do- we like our jobs so that's good. Then when it comes down to having children- we want one or two. By that point, I would love to buy a small place in South Carolina or North Carolina (Wilmington is my fave place in the US!)

Oh my goodness...I totally want a house! I'm hoping we'll be able to afford one on Long Island otherwise Buffalo here we come. I thought I only wanted two kids but now I'm up to 5!! haha. I'm hoping to wait a little bit because I want to travel a little bit more but I'm thinking as soon as we have a house I'm not going to want to wait! So pretty much...I don't know what the future holds but I'm hoping it's happy and healthy! I'm so looking forward to it!

My dream is to buy a home for our family within 1-2 years of our wedding. We would love to be blessed with 2 or 3 children. If possible I would like to stay home with our children; but if that's not possible then I will not feel bad about being a working mom like my mom was! She was fantastic! We would love to buy into Disney Vacation club so we can go with the kiddies a couple of times a year. we want to travel all around the world. Mainly I just want our family to be happy and healthy.

We're moving to the house on 3/15....then its the kids thing. I'll be 32 this year, and I'd like to get as many as possible out by 40. Hoping for at least 6.

Aside from that, we want to continue to travel, and eventually build a house in Ireland as well as the house in the US.
