~~~QOTD 1/27/14~~~
So after a really rough week last week and having food poisoning this weekend,I was happy to open my eyes last night and read this BOW FM haha
Since I did a lot of sleeping this weekend, I figured my question would be about dreams. I keep having a reoccurring dream about getting my eyebrows done the day before my wedding and the lady take off half of my eyebrow!!!!!!! So my question is have you been having wedding nightmares? And if so, which one is the most scary?
That is so scary! I have a reoccurring dream that I have no hair stylist the day of my wedding. I would ask my mom what to do, and my mom just tells me, o well, you are going to just have to go with your hair like this. Meanwhile it's the 'I just got out of bed look' lol wild and crazy!
I have only had one, a while back and it was about my shower. In the dream my mom had invited people that we weren't planning on inviting to the wedding lol Nothing crazy other than that!! I'm nervous they will start happening more as I get closer to the date!
i've been having nightmares about the timeline of the day like crazy! we initially were going to take pics in mill neck but our schedule was really tight and I was worried about being late for cocktail hour. The dreams having been keeping up like all night lol- so I think we are going to do pics somewhere closer to the church or reception so that it'll be more relaxing on the day of and we will get to the reception hall early before everyone else gets there!
I can only remember one. Our wedding was in my backyard (?!) and no one was getting up to dance. Everyone looked bored and I couldn't figure out why. Then I realized.... We forgot to hire a DJ!
Haha my FH had a similar dream except it was at our venue and the Banquet manager came to us and said your DJ hasn't arrived yet and then we realized that we never hired one!!
Knock on wood, so far no wedding day nightmares. Now, with regards to real life 'nightmares' I'm trying to not stress over.....
I have created a very short preparation timeline for myself and its definitly making me a bit nervous. In order to help out my manager and the other dietitians I work with, I'm working through the Thursday before my Saturday wedding. That means I only have Thursday night and Friday to do about, oh 100 little things.
No idea what I was thinking......
I had a super weird one! We were getting married in my ex-boyfriends mothers house (wth?!) and we didn't have wedding bands, we didn't have a cake, a DJ, nothing.
This was before we booked our DJ and photographer, and that definitely gave me the kick in the butt I needed to get motivated!
I've only had one so far and it was that we didn't have wedding bands when we went to exchange rings. But my FW had one where she didn't have brand new white Nike's for the reception - now that has become task number 1 come April :/ Really...that's the priority??? Lol...ahhh gotta laugh right?
I'm just under 8 months (as of yesterday!) and I have YET to have wedding nightmare! I'm not sure why though, but I have no complaints about it either :)
I had 2 last week 2 days in a row, this one is the more vivid.
I was at my grandmother's getting ready for the wedding when I found out we couldn't find an officiant on the day of the wedding. I don't know what happened to the 2 I had lined up, where they were or why they suddenly couldn't be there.
I was panicking saying, what are we going to do? All our guests are here, it's not right to ask them to come back when we have an officiant as many are from out of town. Are we just going to go through the motions and then have to go to a justice of the peace a week or so later and make it legal?
A friend from my last job offered to do it as she was licensed to officiate and I said, can you do that? You are Jewish, can you do a Lutheran wedding? She said sure, I can just read the service from the book of worship.
I then saw us standing at the alter from behind us in the center isle of the church and no one was at the alter with us. That's when I woke up, still in a panic.
In reality - Grandmother has been gone since 2008, house was sold within a year of her passing.
I have 2 officiants, both friends of the family. The first one confirmed my uncles, mom and dad and knew my grandparents. He also did the weddings of my mom and dad and uncle and aunt. He's battling pancreatic cancer and has good and bad days. We are hoping this is a good one as he told me when I was in my 20'd that he would do this for me. The other one was inspired to go into seminary because of the 1st. He knows my parents from going to services with them.
Please say a prayer for the 1st one that he is healthy enough to be there even if he can't do the service, he has been a big part of my life and I'd like to share this with him and his wife if possible.
We have guests coming from as far away as China and Japan, AZ, CO, IL, IN, FL and a few from the north and western reaches of the tri-state area though the majority are on LI.
My friend was only licensed to officiate in my dream.
I have never seen the inside of the church where we will be married except in a picture and this didn't look like that church.
Good question. Glad I'm not the only one.
