Good Morning Ladies,


I figured today we could talk colors & themes!?

Are you planning to have a themed wedding or are you going to stick with a color pallet?

FH and I had a themed engagement party, our theme was 'falling into love in Fall'. I kind of got themed out after that experience lol . So for the wedding we are just sticking to a color pallet. I just recently switched from Emerald green, cream, soft peaches and pinks to Navy blue, cream, and silver.

QOTD 2/11/14 - Long Island Weddings

We originally were going to do a fall theme but there were just too many color options I couldn't decide what I liked better or certain things I liked didn't match together well.... Soo we decided to stick to colors. We are going to have shades of purple, and maybe a accent of gold or champagne. I want the girls dresses to be a dark purple.

QOTD 2/11/14 - Long Island Weddings

We don't have a theme, we are going with a color palette though. I always wanted a Black and White wedding. I have always loved them, I think they are so elegant. So I knew right away black and white was the 'theme' or color palette of our wedding. I did want to add some pops of color here and there though so I decided to add red into the palette. I think My bouquet and maybe my centerpieces will be red and I want to add red roses to our cake. But my girls will be wearing black dresses, and I want the guys in black and white. And I will be having lots of added b&w additions to the wedding. Invitations, escort cards, table numbers, menu cards, etc. A lot of people told me I needed more color...but I love it. I'm not huge on a lot of different colors, and I think I can make it work really nicely.

QOTD 2/11/14 - Long Island Weddings

I'm doing almost a superstitious wedding. M more like nothing can jinx us, we are lucky in love' (I want to put that on the ice or std somewhere) we r getting married in a Fri the 13th and I'm going to have little elements of superstitious things around. Like each table will be number 13 (13a, 13b, 13c....and so on) I'm going to use wooden numbers and glue broken mirror on it, fh is going to msg me a ladder archway for us to walk under in to the reception, right before we walk in fh will open an umbrella that says just married. I feel like im forgetting something but oh will. Lol
Our color is teal and white or teal and ivory.

We are going for a nautical theme. Navy blue will be the color, but I want to add anchors and all those little touches to it. I have sooo many things on Pinterest for it lol

I wanted to do all gray and white/ivory, but thought I may look back and be sad that I didn't have any color- especially since it's a spring wedding. Now I've decided to do gray/silver with peach/coral accents- mostly flowers. But gray will still be the main color, just small touches of the peaches and corals.

Color palate. Navy blue dresses/ties with gray tuxes and corals/pinks/peaches in the flowers.

No theme.. But color palette. Dark Purple and Silver. We also plan on incorporating little things like FH is a police officer and we both love skiing/snowboarding but neither will actually be a dominant theme of the wedding.

You have time don't worry! You know what helped me decide was since i am getting married in the winter i wanted deep rich hue. That's how i picked Navy blue and then i just picked a few colors that coordinated well.

Since you are getting married in April did you think about doing like a pastel color? I love pastel colors, the color mint green is one of my favorites :)

OMG I guess when I go look at dresses I'll get a better idea when we look at bridesmaid dress colors to see what would look best? I don't know. Its giving me anxiety!! Can't make up my mind!

I saw a palette on Pinterest yesterday that was emerald and aqua. It was such a beautiful combo, I was almost thinking about switching to it!!! Just something to think about!

It's so funny your having anxiety about picking a color, and I'm working we didn't pick a color lol
I want a color sash to match my bm dresses. The idea is I'll be in whitew/ivory with a teal sash and they will be in fall with white belt or lace accent. Well my anxiety is each designer has a different shade of y'all!!! So I'm so afraid of the color no matching!! It would be great if I liked a wedding dress from a designer that I . Like a bm dress from......but I don't!!!

I keep going back and forth between Coral and a Robin's egg blue type color. Yeah I tried the looking at dresses thing and became even more confused bc I didn't like the way the one color looked in person. My originally idea was coral but I am hearing a few of the girls complain that they will looked washed out.. UGH!!
