What are you looking forward to the most AFTER you get married? And is there anything you are not looking forward to?
For me, I think it will be just waking up and going to sleep next to FH every night, not just on weekends. I also can't wait to set up our home & make it ours.
I am dreading that once we get get married the babies question is going to start. I would like to wait two years after we are married to have one. My mom already said this morning she wants to take her grandkids to the circus because she saw an add in the paper. :I mean really mom?!

Great question!
I think I am most looking forward to being our own little family. By the time we get married we will have been living together for well over 3 years so that won't change, but it's just the feeling of it being official that gets me really excited! This may be a little silly but I'm also really excited to decorate the house with pictures from the wedding our walls are so empty right now and its so annoying so once we have all these gorgeous pictures there will be no excuse not to hang some up! And of course, the honeymoon
I don't think we'll get the baby question from our parents, especially not his! I don't know how long I want to wait, at least a year thats for sure, but our parents aren't the type to pressure us into it at all. Our extended family might though hahah. But what I'm not looking forward to in the having kids process is the potential for our mothers to compete against each other, I can totally see that happening and I don't want to deal with it AT ALL.
OH and another big one! The battle of the holidays! FH is in law enforcement and usually works all holidays (it's lonely and totally sucks but I'm used to it) but on the extremely rare occasion that he is off it's been a battle for which family we spend the time with. I am NOT looking forward to dealing with that forever - I may have to start hosting at our house! Cue lots of wine drinking!

Well... FH and I already live together... but I cannot wait until he builds me a house. He has been telling me for a while now he wants to build me a house.
I just want a place we can call our own. We're really lucky right now because his parents are letting us live downstairs rent free. We have the whole basement which is finished and is almost a full apartment... private entrance, living room, etc. everything but a kitchen. But I cannot wait till we have our own home.
I also cannot wait to have babies with him.
One thing I'm dreading... honestly... dealing with his brother. I've known his brother since I was 16(and I was REALLY fat back then) and when we worked together he was just an a$$. Luckily for me FH and his brother arent THAT close... but still. Also... if he marries his current GF... oh dear god help us all.

I am looking forward to starting the next chapter of our lives. We already live together so it would be eventually transitioning into a house. I am eager to call him my husband and relish in the fact that our commitment is FOREVER! I knew we would be together forever but knowing that it is official makes it that much sweeter. I look forward to marital bliss!
Honestly, I don't think there is anything I am not looking forward too.. except bills of course haha

I am so looking forward to getting knocked up (hopefully) ASAP! HAHA, not kidding! I can't wait to make babies with this man!!! His crazy mother admitted that the day after she knew we were getting engaged she went and bought baby gifts!! INSANITY!
What I'm not looking forward to is changing my last name. I know it's terrible and we had a post about this. But i'm DREADING it!!!
Alyssa! For sure just host it yourself! I've been doing it for years now just because I REFUSE to not be with my mother and sister for a holiday and I don't think he shouldn't be without his mother! My advice, paper plates and put EVERYTHING in disposable tins!!!

I'm looking forward to living in our own place together (finally!).
But I'm dreading leaving my dog at my parent's house. We're very attached to each other and I don't know what she is going to do when I'm not home every night to put her on my bed so she can sleep with me.

I'm looking forward to having babies! I don't want to wait at all. I can't wait to have a family. We will be living together for over 3 years by the time we get married so nothing will really change but we need more room - we have 2 bedroom but the 2nd is FHs office right now.
There isn't anything I'm not looking forward to but one thing I'm really excited about and don't think FH is as excited, is buying a house. We both really want to be homeowners and want to buy a house right before or right after we get married. But, I think he's going to be overwhelmed with getting married, buying a house, and having a baby all at once.

The thing I'm most looking forward to is definitely having a baby. I have two brothers who had babies before getting married so my mom made me promise I'd get married first (yeah she's a little old fashioned) otherwise Fh and I would probably already have at least one kid. I used to want to wait a year after getting married but at almost 31 my mind has changed.
I can't really think of anything I'm not looking forward to. Nothing sounds better to be then my life together with the love of my life.

I cannot wait to live together!!! :) we don't live together and will be buying a condo (hopefully) only a few months before the wedding so I'm definitely excited about living together!!! I also want a baby...ASAP all of our friends already have had kids and shot-gun weddings (and I mean all- its a little weird that we will be the only ones getting married first lol) But at the same time, I do want to wait a bit and enjoy being married and living together
I am dreading the house search before hand- and probably dealing with money together- i'm a spender, FH on the other hand- slightly cheap so its going to be an issue!!

I completely agree with the name changing thing - I really have to get used to is since he feels so strongly about it. I just love my last name lol I really have to wrap my head about the whole thing.
I'll DEFINITELY be taking your advice on the paper plates LOL our two families together will be looney tunes I'm sure haha and it makes cleanups so much easier. I hosted my family for Christmas Eve last year while FH was working and it took me over an hour to clean up ARG!

I can't wait for babies!! Up until like two months ago I thought I wanted honeymoon babies, but I think we can wait a little while now that I'm thinking about the reality of it. There is not one thing I'm dreading! I can't wait to marry him!!!

**I think this is such a great question! We all get so wrapped up in the wedding planning and forget about the marriage part.
I can't wait to live with FH and start our family! We've been dating for over 5 years and it dawned on me a few months ago that we have never spent more than a week together other than on vacation (and that doesn't count). I know it's going to be a huge adjustment for both of us; I have my own house and FH has lived at home all his life, didn't go away for college or anything. His grandmother, who live with him, always cooks dinner and even does his laundry AND puts it away for him. ARG. I was pretty much raised on take out and going to restaurants.
I'm not looking forward to (as another girl said) the battle for holidays, which we've been having for 5 years but will only get worse with children. FH is a police officer and often works on holidays. Besides that, FH lives with his father, grandmother, uncle, brother, sister and brother-in-law, and that's who we usually spend holidays with while my family gets together with extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins we don't normally see EVERY DAY! I kinda resent the fact that I have to lose out on time with people I rarely see to spend time with people I see all the time. UGH! Ok, thanks for the rant.

Besides the honeymoon, I'm mostly looking forward to living with FH. Our schedules are AWFUL so we really only get to see eachother twice a week and one of those days is usually spent at some type of function. I'm looking forward to knowing that I get to begin and end each day spending time with him.
As far as the thing I'm dreading, there's not really anything. FH and I have decided not to start trying to have children until I'm 30 and we've already discussed it with our families so hopefully we won't have to deal with all the questions. If it happens earilier then it happens, but we both want to travel and enjoy each other for a while first.

I'm excited to start a family for sure, but maybe not for a year or so after our wedding. It will just be so wonderful being married. We live together and spend every extra minute we can together, so that won't change, but just getting to call him my husband for the first time is something I'm really looking forward to.

I'm excited to go on our honeymoon! We plan on having lots of irresponsible fun and traveling for our first year of marraige. After that, we will consider making babies and buying a house. We're just really not ready to grow up yet! (Yes, I know I'll be 30 next hear but so what)

Looking forward to waking up and going to bed each night with him. Also looking forward to starting a family. We will both be 35 that day and I want 3 kids but before we turn 40. I'll go up to 42 if need be. So I say within 6 months to a year after it will definitely be worked. May even be honeymoon babies since we r going to take our honeymoon in April 2015.
What I'm not looking forward to is the stress if moving if we don't get a place before the wedding and plus FH is allergic to cats and I have two of them. So I have to see how that goes but my parents are going to come with us wherever we wind up and take the basement apartment so the cats can stay with them but those are my babies so that's going to be hard. FH loves my cats it's just his allergies but I will definitely get a humidifier to help. He isn't bad when he comes by me though with the allergies. He may become immune to them which I'm hoping.

I'm looking forward to being married, calling him my husband, taking his last name, gaining a second family. Knowing my search is really over for ever! We already live together so not much should change
I'm not looking forward to the baby questions, bc we don't want kids!!

We've been living together for about 2 years now. I'm looking forward to having a family. I'm 30 and he's 35. We both want to have children. Also just having us both commit to forever for better or worse. Also I can't wait to go house shopping and build our home with both of us having a say. I moved into his apartment and 2 years later it still just feels like his place, decorated the way he likes :0(

I am most looking forward to waking up and going to sleep everyday next to him. And also decorating a home and cooking dinner and entertaining.
I am not looking forward to bills/ house payments.
