Morning ladies,Happy Monday!
Today I want to talk about our Reception Halls.
Everyone always says when you find your place you will just know, you will get 'the feeing'. And ya know what...they are right!! My FH and I only looked at 2 RH's. We looked at The North Ritz Club and Jericho Terrace. We saw the NRC first and while we really liked it there, its really pretty, and the price is definitely good, we didn't get 'the feeling' while touring the place. When we went on our appt with JT we weren't sure what to expect. You always hear people call it a 'wedding factory' so we were a little nervous. Well let me tell you...from the minute we walked into JT all my doubts were thrown out the window. We were treated like King and Queen the whole time. The gave us a tour of the entire place.. from cocktail rooms, reception rooms, bridal suites, the kitchen, the bathrooms, I mean you name it we saw it. They even asked what my favorite cocktail was and whipped it up for me. They also gave us gourmet cookies with our initials on them (that really impressed us!). My FH had told my from the get go that he will be happy with whatever place I am happy with... but while we were taking the tour he leaned over to me and said 'this is where we are having our wedding, right?!?!' and I said 'UMMM YES!!!'haha! The place is beautiful, staff is ahhhmazing, and the price was definitely, definitely worth it! We got 'the feeling' everyone talks about and I am so, so, so glad that we did and am so happy with our choice!
So my question for you ladies is did you get 'the feeling' while choosing your RH? And what most impressed you during your appointment?

I visited 3 places. Miller Beach surf club which was what I wanted originally but FMIL didn't because it really was too small and god forbid if it rained it would be so cramped for 125 people and it had no place for the bride and groom to sit... beautiful place tho. Then I went to thatched cottage where everything was so pretty and I loved the indoor rain option because you still get a view of the water and the food was amazing but it didn't give me that omg yes this is it feeling...My last venue was Crescent Beach Club and I almost fell on the floor when i found out the Friday and Saturday price but when I took a tour I fell in love! and asked them what a Sunday price on a holiday would be... it was a little over my budget and I was upset but my FMIL said she would pay a nice chunk of it!!! so it ended up being only 2000 over our budget but we ended up saving and coming under budget with my dress and some of the vendors plus FH got a hefty raise at work so it worked out!FH surprised me and took me there for valentines day and I got the little happy feelings all over again! :) 2015 can't come soon enough!

We went to I think a total of 4 places with the Venetian Yacht Club being the second. We most definietly got the feeling but refused to book anywhere until we tried there food. They (the Venetian) were the only place of the 4 that were willing to give us a private tasting before booking. We feel in love with the view of the Robert Moses bridge as bridges are a big part of our 'theme'. The price was right and the woman helping us was amazing... We were sold on so many of the different pieces of the venue... We couldn't be happier and can't wait until the day is here!!!!

We went to 6 places. I fell in love with Majestic Gardens and was pretty much convinced we were going to have it there. After we got the tour around East Wind I got that same feeling. I wrote the pros/cons of both places and compared what we would get as well as the prices and We just got so much more with East Wind plus we have a history there having both of our proms there.

THIS exactly & it's because we have the same hall and I think because we seem to have the same taste with all wedding planning things LOL.
I think we looked at 12 places total & none gave us the WOW factor we were looking for until we saw JT. I also loved the menu too. So many options! I am disappointed that they didn't make me a specialty drink like you had haha

Couldn't have said it better myself! Even after going back 2 or 3 times with countless questions and taking up hours of their time they always made us feel like the venue was built for just our wedding- love it!

I really was torn between a more casual rustic wedding and a pretty/more ornate wedding. I went to a few venues and liked them all, but still couldn't decide. FH and I were really excited to visit Lombardi's on the Bay and when we walked in we just knew!

We looked at 4 venues in total. Believe it or not but after only our 3rd place, I was feeling discouraged. I wasn't even going to go look at my venue but we said why not? lets just go and see. Im glad we did because I have to say when I walked into 'my room' I just knew it was the one!!! If you feel discouraged.. Don't give up and don't settle!

I looked at 5 different venues. The first venue I walked into I fell in love. It was hard to convince FH that the value was there. Everything for him comes down to the money. I took him back a few times and the last time I brought my mom. My mom helped me convince him that this was it. Super excited to be getting married at Fox Hollow in the Somerley room.

I just knew when we walked into The Metropolitan. I had been there before for a wedding, and I remember how crowded it was. They had about 200 people. But when I walked in and saw it without a wedding going on, I was in love. I really thought it was out of our price range, but when we got the quote, we jumped on it. It's felt like home ever since.

We went to about 5 places and I didn't want your typical 'wedding hall'..as soon as I walked in the Bayview House at captain bills, I told my FH this is it! It just felt right and we wanted a place on the water so that was that! We are getting married there as well and there's a staircase I get to walk down so that got me too lol

I did a good job of keeping my guard up till I knew we could afford the place. We went to JT and I was so upset when I got the price it was like $40 pp more than we could afford :( so then I decided we should go to the v all inclusive venues and I got super excited and gitty when I saw all the cool stuff the sterling had to offer!! So I was no longer upset we lost out on.JT but I.think if we had the money it would be a hard choice between the 2!

We looked at about 8 venues. FH couldn't come with me to all of them because of work so it was a little hard to know if he was going to like certain places as much as I did. There were venues that we loved but could never afford but we didn't just want to settle either. When we went to Timber Point we loved the customer service we received and how Miriam wasn't pushy and answered all of our questions and really took time with us and we didn't even have an appointment we just stopped in. I am very happy with our decision. Miriam has kept in touch with us along the way and has given great suggestions.
