My FIRST QOTD!!!!!! Thanks again to Kristen for passing the tiara on to me!!!!!!
So for today's QOTD.....I'll keep it simple, as I didn't go to bed until 4am and woke up about 20 minutes ago...
FH's question is the following: Why doesn't the BOTW title come with a cash prize., he should take up with Ron and Kim!!!! As for me, here goes nothing.....what is it about your reception hall that made you look at FH and say THIS IS THE PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When we went to GCH for my parent's 25th anniversary we went upstairs looked at the room and said wow!!!!! this place is amazing, and after tasting the food, we knew it was IT!!!!!!!!! And although it's going to be a completely different look than my parent's party we know it's the best place for us. Okay ladies tell me what you think!!!!!

Re: QOTD 2/1/09
as soon as we pulled up to Glen Island and I saw that it overlooked the water and inside a pretty park, I fell in love, I knew right away that was where I wanted to get married....Then just walking inside confirmed it all for me, from the cocktail hour room that has cieling to floor windows overlooking the water to the lighting in our reception room -- I was sold and so was FH

Great question. FH and I love the water. We love boating, we love eating at places along the water, the night he proposed we had dinner at our favorite NJ waterfront spot, Waters Edge, which we went to by boat. The water and our love of boating isn't the only thing we share a love for, but it was the thing that bonded us.
So when we were walking around Lands End and standing on the deck with the ferries and boats coming in and out, or when we were looking through the big picture windows from the ballroom at the boats zipping by, we knew Lands End was the place for us.

As we were pulling into WM, I had the feeling it was the place - just so romantic and cozy. But the thing that really struck us was the menu. FH and I love to try different cuisines and wanted something different from the stuff we've had at other weddings. We really wanted to feature our love for good food (since everyone knows food is the way to my heart!) so this was the place Plus everyone was so nice. Not to mention that during the time of our wedding 65,000 tulips will be in bloom on the premises and that is my favorite flower!

When Harry (one of the hall managers) said 'Vegetarian? NO PROBLEM!' and then handed us a quote that was well below what other places had quoted us.
This was after we took the tour and were blown away by how beautiful it was. It was a no brainer.

we went to a wedding at the FT and i fell in love, the food was awesome, 1 wedding at a time, raised dance floor, and i love the decor to me it just feels so romantic i thought it was way over our budget so i thought this wasnt the place until we actually went to speak to them and got an awesome quote along with so many extras

Congrats on BOTW, I missed this yesterday!!!
Well...I'm a guinea princess. That's basically what it boils down to lol.
But FH and I are very calculating people, and we don't really make major decisions on the fly without researching things extensively...so we were really only considering places that we've either been to, or had personal family recommendations. I've gone to Villa for 2 high school events and a wedding, and he's been there for a wedding, we go to the restaurant and the country club for brunch, and his family gets catering there all the time...so we had concrete experience with the food, and food quality was first and foremost the most important thing to us. Plus the room was perfect for us, cozy without being small, and the decor is the perfect mix of being glitzy without being overbearing.
And it's pink.

The Royalton was the first place we went to.. I came out and said I love it! The floors.. no ugly carpet.. high ceilings.. and it was SO CLEAN! I also love that it is tucked away and not a lot of people know about it. Nothing we went to after even compared to it!!

FH always joked around with me that this was the RH we were going to get married in when we were only dating for like 6 months...I just looked at him and laughed. Sure enough when we went RH shopping... our RH was the 2nd stop... with 2 more after. They helped us right away..unlike the other places we went...we fell in love with the place...the food...the deals they were throwing at us... and he put the deposit down right there and that was it. LOL. Guess he WAS right 5 years ago huh?

I was in awe when I went to the OFC. It was exactly what I wanted. Beautiful, high ceilings, open and airy. Very Martha Stewart/Country Chic. Buuuutt, it was quite pricey so I looked around and tried to find somewhere else, but every time I envisioned my wedding, it was at the OFC. So of course there was no other choice but to book it!

we were looking for something intimate and personal. we wanted people to be able to see us from any part of the room and we could see them too. it has beautiful chandeliers and we just love it.

I fell in love with NRC reception room. It was just glowing and loved the mohogony bar and loved the fact we would be the only wedding. we wanted a place that would be all about us. It was perfect. we thought most of the places we saw were gorgetous but we just loved everything about it..had this overwhelming feeling of happiness and excitedness that i didn't have at the other places.

That it didn't look like the typical RH...it has higher ceilings, no carpets, and we met their Saturday night minimum.

For us it was the Renaissance look of the Hall.. We like the interior design and the elegant of the hall.
Although Leonards is an old location, we LOVED IT!!
