Goodmorning! Ugh again with this snow! Hope you all have a great day. I am going to try to post my questions early before I go into work because sometimes I don't get on the computer til later on at night.
Well today marks 14 months to Our wedding Day! I count down on a monthly basis…for now :) LOL I am so excited the months have just been flying by. Today I think about our wedding date and the significance behind it. FH and I started dating on March 18, 2005. March 18, 2015 will be 10 years together and we will be getting married one month later on April 18th. We went with April because we figured the weather would be nicer and the 18th happened to fall on a Saturday…perfect. We also booked our wedding venue (East Wind) not only for the reason that it is beautiful but because it kind of tells a story for us. I went to his senior prom there in 2005 and he also went to mine there in 2006. Our proms were early in our relationship and I love the idea that it has such a special meaning to us. Kind of like look where we are now... 10 years later. We have pictures from his prom and my prom that I would love to incorporate in our wedding video or photo montage or something.
So my question for you ladies… is there any special meaning behind your wedding date… the venue… or any other detail regarding your wedding?

When we decided on our date it works out best for our dance club schedules. But after we signed our contract with our vendor we found out that our wedding day will be his grandparents 61st wedding anniversary. His grandparents are that cute old couple that everyone wants to be like. So after we found out it became a really special day for us.

Fh abd I wanted to be different in as many ways as we can! We are not superstitious at all so we thought it would be cool to do a fri the 13th wedding! So we had limited choices! We could have done June of this year, but that's my cousins 25th bday, and fh.basically begged me to not make him wear a tux in the summer lol so that took us to 2015 choices were feb, March or nov. Well feb 13 is out friends/groomens bday and I figured the day before vday would make flowers $$$$$ so feb was out, and nov is no good bc black fri starts xmas for me and I know I couldn't handle my wedding being around the holidays! Audio fh bday is in sept, mine is in dec that's too much to celebrate around the same time lol so Mar it was!! Although it's the day before my moh bday...but we will see happy birthday at midnight :) venue isn't meaningful like yours! We needed budget friendly and wanted fun!

Our wedding date was chosen as a result of convenience, cost, custody arrangement and it was a bonus that the next day was a holiday making the fact that it's a Sunday slightly easier (hopefully) on guests... That being said a few months after choosing the date I realized it's a day after my anniversary of quitting smoking, so although it doesn't have to do with our relationship, it's still a pretty significant date as next year will be 7 years as a non smoker for me : )

We originally wanted a fall October wedding but then when we found out what a difference in price it was for November we went with the first Friday in November. ..so the date has no meaning behind it, but it will now.....as for the venue we wanted something that was more relaxed. We are not over the top people but still wanted something nice and timber point was the perfect fit for us.

Good question, and ur story was so cute thanks for sharing!
FH & I picked our date for a few reasons. We narrowed down the season pretty quickly b/c i hate the summer (i melt lol) and then spring was too much $$. Fall is my favorite season but my engagement party was in the middle of Hurricane Sandy so that turned me off of fall so that left winter, which is probably my 2nd favorite season. ( I know everyone is hating on the snow but I'm secretly enjoying it for the most part lol, i could do without the ice though lol)
When we decided winter we didn't pick Dec. b/c of Christmas and ppl are always traveling...so January was the next winter month so we decided on that pretty quickly too. Originally we wanted the 9th or the 10th b/c i liked the way it looked on paper lol. However; when we found out the price of a saturday wedding we couldn't afford it so the 10th was out and the 9th wasn't available anymore which was crazy b/c i went looking a yr and half in advance lol. So we were left with the option of doing the week b4 or the week after. The week b4 is my birthday and way too close to new years for me so we went with the weekend after that. Which we got lucky with too b/c that is MLK weekend so most ppl will have an extended weekend which is nice :)
Venue searching was little crazy. I made FH look at 11 places. All along FH was sold on Carlyle on the Green the only thing that held me back was price but they were really willing to work with us and I'm so glad they did b/c it really is so 'us' as cheesy as that sounds. Now I couldn't picture having my wedding anywhere else!! :D

Thanks most definitely the hardest thing I've ever had to do to date... But by far one of the smartest decisions ever !!!
