Anyone else find themselves obsessed with WEIRD aspects of the wedding?
I'm honestly am dragging my rear end to book major vendors but I'm obsessed with (this week) is the the music. Not the DJ but like specific songs! So here are some questions about music!
a. Are you walking down the aisle to the traditional 'Here Comes the Bride' or something else, what song is it!?
b. What song do you want for cutting the cake?
c. What do you want as your LAST song of the night?
See, random! This is what clouds my head these days!!
a. I definitely want something different. Right now I'm torn between walking (dancing) down the aisle to Bruno Mars' 'Marry You,' Darius Rucker's 'History in the Making,' or Billy Joel's 'She's got a way!'
b. My sister apparently has NEVER seen a cake cutting ceremony in her life. And it's not for the lack for wedding attending! We had this conversation the other night, I said I definitely do not want them to play Sugar, Sugar when the cake is being cut...I know a lot of people choose that but I march to my own drum and refuse! LOL I kinda am leaning towards Jason Mraz/Colbie Caillat's 'Lucky'
c. Again, I always thought it would be 'That's what friends are for' and we'd have that big circle at EVERY sweet 16 in the 90's...Then FMIL had that at hers and I KNEW I'd have to find another song. Since we're having a guitarist for our after party bonfire it's not REALLY our last song BUT I want it to be fun...Im honestly leaning towards the theme from Golden Girls...Who doesn't love that song!? Or Maybe the So Long Farewell song from the Sound of Music or N'Sync BYE BYE BYE...ok I'm done, now I'm thinking out loud!!
Ohhhh wait! I also have it in my head that I want dinner served to Beauty and the Beasts 'Be Our Guest'
Anyone have any ideas how to make my brain function normally when it comes to this wedding!?
a. I will be walking down the aisle to my best friends kid sister (who might as well be my kid sister) playing the intro to 'Enter Sandman' by Metallica. My girls will probably walk down the aisle to 'Seven Nation Army' or the Super Mario theme song.
b. Maybe 'How Sweet It Is' or 'Crazy Little Thing Called Love' or 'You're my best friend'
c. Probably 'Closing Time' or 'We are the Champions'
FH and I may just be a little bit of QUEEN fans :)

We have been thinking about this stuff, but everything is tentative!
A- classic here comes the bride B- cake cutting, I love James Taylor's how sweet it is, although very cliche. My sister did 'I wanna grow old with you' from the wedding singer, it was super cute. C- I dont know this one yet!! Michael Buble save the last dance?? Something more upbeat? I am not sure yet!!
Even more songs to think about-- walking into the reception, anniversary dance, groom and his mom dance, me and my dad dance. So fun to think about!!

I AM IN LOVE WITH THAT IDEA!! I love Beauty & the Beast!
I haven't given any of the songs much thought. I know that my church offers an Irish Wedding song instead of the traditional 'Here Comes the Bride' but I've never heard it so I'm not sure yet.

I'm not going to lie, I may be stealing this idea. SOOOOO cute!! And we LOVE that movie!! I wanted to get that song in somehow, but thought it was a little weird for the first dance

Such a good question! And I LOVE the small details and I LOVE that I have so long to think about it and make the best possible choices..
1. I'm walking down the aisle to a song by Rilo kiley, one of my all time favorite bands since high school. What I CAN'T decide is what I want the bp to walk down to (even though I think I might be close to deciding)
2. I didn't think of this-is this like a 'big deal' thing or a 'traditional' thing to have a special song play? I never even realized this..so now I need to think!
3. I'm not going to obsess over this.. I might let our dj decide? Unless it just comes to me one day.

Walking down the aisle, FH wants Pachelbel's Canon in D Major. Cliched, I think, but he doesn't have too many 'wants' and I'll give him what makes him happy.
Cake cutting we're going with Pete Townsend's 'Let My Love Open the Door'
Last song of the night is up for debate. I want 'Takin' Care of Business' because its the song that's played at the end of every Mets home win. But FH isn't keen on the idea. So we'll have to see.

OMG! I love the idea of my BP being introduced into my reception to Seven Nation Army--and I just told FH and he loves it. Totally stealing this, sorry I'm not sorry ;) just kidding. Awesome idea!!

I love your idea to play 'Be Our Guest' during dinner! Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite movies!!

Hmmm...I thought FH and I were set on using 'don't stop believin' ' as the last song of the night, but I love this idea too! We're both Mets fans! aaahhh too many awesome songs to choose from!!!
