Since Lili mentioned the lotto here's the question of the day.
You see these shows where people win the lotto, quick their job, spend all their money and go bankrupt. 1. If you won the lotto what would you do with the money and would you quit your job?
and for a wedding related question. While you grew up they thought about when you get married and how would it be like. That being said 2. Have your parents made your experience so far wedding bliss or are they throwing hissy fits?
1. If I won the lotto I would pay off our house and get FH a new car. I would quit my job but look for a job doing something I love.
2. My dad has been ok. He always asks if I need but he also complains about how much a wedding is and talks about how it was when he got married. Dude that's over 40 years ago. My mom has driven me a little crazy. When FH and I got engaged I got her a book on being a mother of the bride (thought it was a cute idea, boy was I wrong) all she does now is tell me how I should be doing this now and rushing the whole process. I know she means well but it stresses me out. She also doesn't feel involved in the wedding, she's always busy when I call so it's just been FH and I planning the wedding. sheesh.

1) I would purchase a house, give $$$ to both of our families.. and try to save as much as possible for my kiddies! With that said, if I hit like hundreds of millions, I would quit my job. If I hit a million or so, I would probably quit so I could focus on school but would work again later.
2) My parents have been supportive but a bit sad.. they're having trouble with the fact that I'm the youngest & growing up.

1. If I won the lotto... I wouldn't necessarily quit my job because sometimes I DO enjoy it haha.... but I wouldn't work as much! I'd buy a house for my fiance' & I, give money to my family, do some investing, buy my Mother a new car (my Parents just bought a jeep about a year ago, but it's too big for her to drive, so she drives her old car haha) and I'd buy my fiance' a new car too... oh! and adopt more animals!
2. My Father has been good. He's always been like 'Do whatever you want to do' with me anyway... My Mother is much more vocal about her opinions and that drives me up the wall. HOWEVER, she originally did not like the idea of me wearing a bird cage veil, but when I was trying on dresses and the girl helping put one on me.... my Mother took one look at me and agreed that it was definitely ME. SCORE for meeee!

1. If you won the lotto what would you do with the money and would you quit your job? I don't think I would quit my job, unless I won like a million dollars a year for life or something crazy like that. First I would buy my dream home and FH is mustang he dreams of. I would give some to our families and the rest I would save so we could take amazing vacations as a family and for our children's education and what not.
2. Have your parents made your experience so far wedding bliss or are they throwing hissy fits? It took my parents a while to really get excited about the wedding. My engagement is/was 28 months. It probably wasn't till last month that my parents really showed any real excited although I know they have always been happy for me. My father keeps bring up the money issue but I know it is because he concerned about us being in debt and not being able to buy a house.

We fantasize all the time about hitting the lotto. If we were to win a really large amount I would quit my job and probably go back to school and/or try to open a business where I work with animals. We'd have our wedding and dream HM to Hawaii payed off! We'd buy a house, 2 cars (1 for each) then put lots of $$ into savings and invest some also. We'd also give some to our families. Of course go on a shopping spree also! Lol
I dont really know if my parents fantasized about me getting married but they have both been supportive. My dad has helped us out a bit with $$ and has driven us to numerous appts. My mom has been great as well. Neither has been a pain in the a$$ thankfully! Cuz Ive heard the stories on this board and I thank God its not me lol

1. Yes, I would quit my job. I wouldn't stop working though. I would try to start my own business.
2. My parents and my future in laws have been so amazing. All 6 of us went looking at reception venues together and it was a lot of fun.

1) If I won the lottery, I would quit my job to look for something I enjoy doing. I like my job, but I hate where I do it. I would pay off my parents house, get my inlaws new cars, and move to Cali so FH can start living his dream of working in/making movies. O but we would all go on a vaction to some tropical island before we do all of this.
2) My parents have been better then I thought they would be. They are really supportive in everything. The annoying part with my mom is that everytime I tell her I dont want something, in the nice way, she thinks im being a bridzilla. Its hard to talk to her sometimes because of this. Now my MFIL, thats whole different story. I never had a problem with her until he put the ring on my finger. She is constantly critizing the money we are spending (do you really need a dj? she asked me at one point and she said we dont need limos, that she will drive us to the church and reception in her minivan) and is accussing me of wanting everyone to be drunk (one example: I said there is going to be champagne in the limo. She said 'You dont want everyone drunk in your pictures do you?' No i dont, lady, but I want to celebrate!!!) I can go on and one but ill leave it at that for now.

I wouldn't quit my job at all - I love what I do! I would buy a house though and get a new car for FH & one for myself. Other than that, I would just get stuff for the house and put the rest of the money into savings.
My parents have been pretty good. My biggest problem is getting my dad to agree to a song! FILs have been pretty good as well, but I don't see them much because they live in NJ

1. If you won the lotto what would you do with the money and would you quit your job? I would pay off my mother's house so she could possibly retire early. I would also pay off my school loan and credit cards. I would purchase a house, set up college funds for my children, invest, and save money. I would not quit my job.
2. Have your parents made your experience so far wedding bliss or are they throwing hissy fits? My mother wants me to have the wedding of my dreams so she is helping me pay for the wedding. She will do anything for us. I'm so blessed. My father does not want me to spend a lot of money and he wants me to have a small wedding. I explained to him that I plan on getting married once and I want to have the wedding of my dreams. I told him I will cut corners were possible so that I am not spending over my budget.

1.) I would definitely quit my job. I would travel and do charity work to keep myself busy. FH said he would not quit his job so we would have to stay in NY. We would buy a big beautiful home with a pool in a nice neighborhood. I would give some money to our families and best friends. I would also plan a grand vacation to somewhere tropical and take our families and friends with us.
2.) My dad has been very good with everything. He says he likes anything I like. My mother has been more opinionated. She was a big factor in choosing a RH. Last night we went dress shopping and my mother cried. I was surprised because she is not an emotional person. My father is the affectionate one. She had her opinions on the dresses I tried on and I mostly agreed with her.

1. If you won the lotto what would you do with the money and would you quit your job? Quit my job, yes absolutely. But I would look for anther one. I couldn't sit home all day without anything to do. As far as the money- pay off the house, car and student loans and fix up the house to make it perfect and then go a little crazy for me and the FH.
2. Have your parents made your experience so far wedding bliss or are they throwing hissy fits? My parents have been great. My Dad is so low key and my Mom has been very happy with all the choices we've made so far. His parents have been weird. His Dad, who usually says nothing, insisted on us getting married in a Church (which is fine), but his Mom, who I adore, has been weird because of the cost (We're paying though..). She actually suggested that we get married where she did, in a VFW hall. She seemed upset when we had to tell her that wasn't what we wanted.

1. If you won the lotto what would you do with the money and would you quit your job?
I would pay off my mom's mortgage and debt, my student loans, my car loan, and my credit card debt. After that, I would buy my mother and FH each a new car, because both of theirs are extremely unreliable. Then I would put the remainder of money in two separate CD's: one for my first house fund and one for my children's college fund.
I got this all planned out
2. Have your parents made your experience so far wedding bliss or are they throwing hissy fits?
At first, my mom was sad because like Eunice said she was working through the whole I'm growing up thing and never appeared thrilled about me getting married or being engaged. But in the last couple months, she has been ecstatic about planning the day and telling FH how happy she is to have him as her son.
Of course there have been moments of struggle here and there with FIL's and my mother, but In general, both of our parents have been very helpful and supportive with everything and I'm grateful for that.

1. If we won the lotto, i would pay off ALL of my student loans!!!! gggrrrrr. I'd buy FH the escalade he wants and I'd take over all finances for my parents house upstate. That's all I can think of, I wouldnt quit my job. I'd be so lazy if I did.
2. my parents have been so fabulous through this process so far

1.) If we won the lotto FH and I would pay off all of our debits (his house, our students, this wedding, etc), then we would buy a house in NY, give some money to our families, invest some, and save most, so we could live off the interest. I don't think I would quit my job. I have days when I hate it and then I have days that I love it. I would probably search for a part-time job and volunteer with the rest of my time.
2.) It's funny because the only member of my family that gave me a hard time was my MOH, which is my older sister. Originally, I wanted to get married in Fall of 2012. She told me that fall didn't work for her work schedule and if I didn't pick a day that worked for her there would be a chance that she couldn't attend my wedding. We got into a HUGE fight about this. She is such a selfish person and it's all about her. She's always been like this, so I don't know why I was even surprised. Of course, I ended up picking a day that worked for her. Now she has no excuse. She better be at my wedding or else.

1. My FH is so obsessive about winning the lotto and we always joke about how we would disappear and just travel for years on end. I know that i would get bored if I quit my job so I would prpbably volunteer but to be tied down to the board of ed and all ots bureacracy I know I wouldn't stay.
2. My mom has been surprisingly awesome. Prior to our engagement my mom wasnt a huge fan of my FH. It has a lot to do with the fact that he has been married and has kids, i think that she was afraid he didnt want to get married again and she was nervous I was in a dead end relationship. Now she loves him and has been there for every appointment and shes helping out with the cost. Th eonly thing is she sometimes gets overbearing but I am so ok with it.
